I'm about at the point with the show that if they end this season without revealing the mother, I'm done watching it.

Actually at the end of the season they confirmed in an interview they are revealing the mother.

Never got into it. The only person I find funny out of all of them is Jason Segel but even he is held back by the rest of the show.

I like the show but the one thing I don't like is how it seems to be forcing Robin and Barney into being a couple---it doesn't feel right. Barney needs to be the ladies man or permanent bachelor of the group, the show seems to work better like that I think. The whole Barney and Robin forced relationship feels like Attack of the Clones love story all over again---come to think of it----is George Lucas in some way connected to this :stare: ?

I still don't see why the writers want to make them acouple, they just seem to fit together very well. IMO Robin needs to fall for someone outside the group but doesn't show up (like she meets someone out of town or something) then as a series finale we finally meet the guy and she leaves the gang with this guy and Barney is actually glad that she's found someone but deep down has regreats but eventually moves on and find his Mrs. Right and so on.

I know this season is lock on those two getting hitch but it should end up Robin thinking about getting cold feet but desides to go through with it but Barney is the one to get cold feet and leaves thorugh the bathroom window.

Not to be really pessimistic, but the show stopped being good after season 6, IMO. It's really extreme situations (The godfather episode... Really?) and they're constantly recycling old jokes. I mean, I'm still watching it because I like the characters and am a fan and all, but it's a bit of a chore, keeping up.

Also, I was looking forward to Barney and Robin being a couple ever since they played Battleship in season 1. It seems very natural to me.

Yes. It is a chore but it is all over soon and they still have some great episodes.

I watched a few episodes and decided it wasn't for me. I think I've been watching TV for too long...just about all sit-coms just follow the same formula they've been using since the '70s, so I feel like I've already seen them all. ;)

Except those things were funny the first few times...not so much when you can predict what the punchline of the joke is going to be.
