Theives Guild Glitch : V

so i did the early part of getting into the thieves guild where the guy has you steal a ring and put it in some other guys pocket while everyone is being distracted. well, the guy that distracted the crowd is the guy that i'm supossed to meet down in the sewer area so i can join the thieves guild. He keeps telling me to meet him down there, but he's still standing in the spot where he said he would distract everyone, and everyone who he was distracting is still standing around as well. same positions, they dont move... so now idk what to do. anyone else have this problem?

yes i have. the mission marker is still on the guy in the town. he keeps telling me to meet him down there.

As long as I'm in this thread...I was able to pick the lock on the display case. But I cannot see into the case when I am in sneak mode (that crouching makes me shorter), and when I try to steal the rings out of the case and I'm not in sneak mode, I always get caught. How can I get past this?

looking at the wrong case? unlock the backside, then theres a case inside holding the ring. let me know if you have the same problem ido

Erm, I never had this problem, Are you tried Advancing the time 'T' on PC. Or try sleeping.

im on 360, and yea i tried sleeping and 'waiting'. didn't do anything.

Are you trying to get the ring for the quest? Or are you just trying to steal a ring on display in a display case? In either case, really, you can just pick up the ring, move it to a secluded area, and steal it there. I've noticed you don't get in trouble for picking up and moving owned items like you did in Oblivion. Which is kind of strange...
