I'm curious how you would feel in this scenario:
If there is an android companion which was really awesome, and which you could also fall in love with and romance; how would your character (or you - if you like to project yourself unto your character) feel about it if you:
A ) Discovered that the companion was an android, but was him/herself unaware of it.
B ) Discovered that the companion was an android, and he/she knew they were - but kept it from you in fear of rejection.
Moral and philosophical themes like this is one of the things I really loved with the movie Blade runner and the human-looking android - human relation "setting" overall. I love how this theme explores the human condition. So I am really, really curious how you people would react if something like this happened.
Edit: Romance is not confirmed in F4, androids are. So this is mostly based on speculation. Still - I think this is a very interesting topic to touch on regardless of if its implemented or not.

If androids are intelligent, self-aware and capable of human affections, I don't see a reason to treat them differently than humans. It would certainly be an interesting situation, though. Mechanical companions are common in games, but discovering this only after dozens of hours spent traveling together? Might be a very memorable story.
. Oh the frustration of a romance that could never be consummated! The bewilderment ("But what is the point of six?!") The problem of dealing with a jealous, bullet-proof, air-to-ground missile toting 'lover' ("You played chess with him! That was OUR special thing!!!")
