There any way to rotate picked up items?

Post » Wed May 30, 2012 10:55 pm

On the console? Specifically, XBOX 360? Only way I've found so far is pushing them against the edges of tables/dressers to position them correctly. Maddening.

No. Theres a mod, but no physics to grabbed items like in Oblivion for example. Its totally inferior to previous systems.

Not that I've found. My moth in a jar is sitting sideways on my table and I've given up trying to do anything else with it.

Isn't this such a simply brilliant idea? Not like it's even a new, unthought-of concept, either.

Unfortunately, there is no way to rotate grabbed items. This is my question: Why the hell not?

So they let us rotate the objects in the inventory but not in the world. Nice.

Have you tried bashing the items against a table? That's how we straighten out things round these parts.

Does no one here know how to utilize Telekinesis?

Telekinesis allows you to "zoom" and rotate objects, and they don't flop around while you're holding them with the spell.

Why.... do you have to do this with your magic powers? Why can't I just do it with... you know... my character's hands. The way most people traditionally move things around. Even worse, since grabbing is now a "press and hold" action, it's not like you can do much else while you are doing it and you aren't as likely to do it by accident.

There's no reason for the telekinesis abilities to move and rotate objects not to be the same control system for the regular grabbing mechanism. And I don't know telekinesis. I thought they took that spell out, actually.

Tap A to open/pick up, hold A for 2~ secs to hold and move. No need to hold down A. But ah thanks Swish for the tip!

Well, if you think about it, you're using telekinesis even when you're not. I mean, your hands aren't actually grabbing the object. Which is why you can't rotate it or hold it perfectly steady. If you go into 3rd person, you will even see the object floating 3 feet from your character! :P

THough, finding a telekinesis staff is mighty hard. I didn't find the only one I've found until around level 35 or so. AFAIK, the spell is only avaliable through staffs and not an actual castable spell.

Are you sure? I'm pretty sure you can get it through a mages guild quest or from something like that.

No [censored] idea where it exists in-game, but I was able to find http://abridgedskyrim.com/sites/abridgedskyrim.com/files/styles/content-picture-big/public/Spell%20Tome%20Telekinesis.jpg.

Yeah telekinesis is out there. Using the actual spell will powerlevel your alteration like crazy as well.
Never tried using it to decorate, mostly because I didn't like getting so many skill ups in a skill I rarely use.

Dead wrong, you can get it as a castable spell, I've had it before on my mage. I honestly don't recall where I got it from, but I believe it was just sold by a mage vendor.

My solution in Oblivion was to start facing in a different direction when I dropped held the item out and then moved into my specified position before dropping it. I don't know if it will work the same way, but it's worth a shot. Either way, it can be rather tedious depending on your goals.

Well then. I'll be damned.

Finding Tomes is hard enough. I know there's an Invisibility one, too, but I have yet to find one with the character who would actually use it. ?(?益??
