If i remember the little i know of elder scrolls lore correctly, Imperials and dark-elves should be hated quite a bit by the Nords shouldn't they? due to wars and imperial occupation etc, but what happens if i choose an Imperial or dark elf character, why would wise old nords teach me dragon shouts?

I realise spoilers can't/shouldn't be said here, but can someone let me know if something happens ingame where i can continue being a hated Imperial/dark elf, or will i eventually have to become hero of the Nords no matter what?

If the answer can't be said without saying a spoiler, then just ignore this post as i really don't want the story ruined for anyone.

Well they do keep to it somewhat. I believe in Winderhelm they keep the dark elves there in a slum and treat them horribly. As a dark elf this made me not want to join their cause against the empire.

The graybeards don't give a damn about race, or anything because as a dragonborn you're a divine gift and according to them its not for them to dispute the gods intentions. Also many nords like the empire, many don't. Same with Imperials, and as said before Dragonborn = gift from gods.

Though nords don't hate dark elves. Not especially.

Most Nords support the empire so they have no problem with the imperials. Can't say anything about the dunmer though.

Nothing bad happens to you as far as I know, though discrimination is possible. I don't consider this a spoiler, but tagged it anyway because I'm paranoid in the forum.
