Is there a way to disable cheats? : V

Hello guys,

I have been playing Skyrim for quite a while now. Though, I always end up using cheats, one way or another - but not because I enjoy it, but sometimes it becomes irresistible not to. And in the end, it always ruins my gameplay.

So, my question is: Is there a way that I could disable the cheats from ever being used? Even if it means getting rid of the console, as long as it becomes impossible for me to do such thing...

it is possible from the ini file but.. simply stop using them..

Should be an option to disable the INI key, but seriously, just make yourself not do it. I use the console so much while debugging my mod I've become allergic to the thought of using it otherwise.

Pull out your ` key. Done. Its rarely used anyway.

Sounds like a self control problem to me. Not anyones problem but your own and there is no reason to disable any cheats.

go into the ini file in your docs, go to where i says enableconsole=1 , change the 1 to 0 save
done

I know this might be a hard thing to do but you'll just have to cope with not using the console. Just don't give into temptation. You can do it!

Can only assume they mean console commands from PC/Laptop versions

There not cheats , the command console is a tool ......
It can be used to alter things in game (additems,,,tgm,,,exct...)
But used rong it could mess up your game

It has a http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Console, it's pretty nice for testing mods and getting around/fixing bugs in your game. You can use it to cheat or just do wacky things like make everyone 1ft tall (open console with key just below escape, click on npc, type setscale 0.2, hit enter, hit same tilde key again to close console)... How did you not know this?

Yes. I'm well aware of the command console. I just get tired of people referring to it as cheats. Heck, most of the time you see a thread where someone asks for it on the consoles, it's because they just want to cheat. Certainly if you choose to abuse it, like the OP, it can be used to cheat, but that's not what it's for. Skyrim does not have cheats. It has a testing and debugging tool.

If you disable them then you can just enable them again. If your problem is using cheats then disabling them isn't going to stop you.

Play on a console version where you don't have the option, that's your only choice.

You could buy a ps3 or an xbox with the game on, Then you wouldn't be able to use console commands even if you wanted to!
