is there a way to remove effects like ancient knowlegde?

Post » Tue May 22, 2012 2:14 am

titel says it all.
you gain this buff trough a quest. as i found out its bugged and gives me benefits it should not. i want to remove its effect completly from my savegame for now.

the console command does not work on this things effects thats the reason i post it here. if you remove the spell effect via the console the buff disapperas from active effects but its effect is still in place and upgrades ALL armor by 25% instead of only dwarven armor.

anyone has any ideo how to get rid of this before the ck comes? dont want to wait till end of jan 2012. would be faster to start from scratch instead :/

So whats your problem exactly with the buff itself?

it should grant a 25% armor bonus to dwarven armor only. but instead it increases ALL armors rating by 25%.
the 15% faster leveling rate for the smithing skill is also not working. instead you can upgrade your items 15% more.

so having this buff currently feels like cheating :/ and its to long since i got it. dont want to start all over.

as explained console does not really help here.

Yeah, you can do it. But you'll need the spell ID of Ancient Knowledge.

The command would be player.removespell SPELLID

UESP doesn't have the ID listed, not sure how to check its ID myself. Perhaps someone here knows what the ID is or knows how to check for you.

The quest give you a perk for the Armor rating and "Game.GetPlayer().ModAV("SmithingMod",15)" (hidden in quest stage 1000)

I'm not happy how Beth work this one out...
Use the console and "player.modav smithingmod -15" (i have not tested this but i think this will help you)
