Thermic Lance or Chainsaw? : Fallout: New Vegas

I'm looking at side/side comparisons between the two on the wiki, And it shows both with 100 DMG, and 100 DPS..

So my question is, Which is better? :unsure2:

I like Thermic Lance for style. Does Chainsaw have a special VATS move? Thermic Lance does.

Thermic Lance if you want replacement parts, don't kill the BOS, their merchant sells them late in the game. Chainsaw if you want to play Leatherface and just love the sound of it.

Chainsaw has like a two second VATS move and it does about 130 damage or something like that.

I don't know exactly.

Some have said the Thermic Lance does not work when companions use them. I did not try it when I had that character that had one going and my current character has not found it yet (and no you won't get the answer to where it is in this section of the boards). Anyway, if you have companions you want to give this to them, keep that in mind or test it first.
