The first two and last seem reasonable, not necesarrily winners, but the others don't. At least Skyrim isn't up there cause that would just be lies.

Uncharted and Batman had good stories in my opinion.

It's not the internet. It's the American Writers' Guild Awards!!!

8O ~

That's me puking.

A commenter to that article:

basically, they have to have credited writers in the game credits, at least some of the credited writers (maybe all) have to join the video game writers element of the guild and the developer has to send the judging panel a script – they flat out refuse to actually play the games and see the writing in context.

Batman had a fairly decent story. I like the Assassin's Creed series but even I admit Revelations had a really weak story.

It's worse than people on the internet. It's people in the movie business who have probably never played a game in their lives.

So, people that I have never heard of and will never have any meaningful impact on my life, who sound like they consider themselves extremely important? Still not too different from 'people on the internet.'

I guess. The problem is that this level of writing gains legitimacy with each award it receives, which just encourages companies to put out more of this junk.

Fallout New Vegas not having a nomination? Not a very credible guild of writers if they don't know good writing. :whistling:

It hardly had great writing though, the story itself was pretty bland.

I think this is for this past year. (2011) I think I remember New Vegas making their list before.

Only one of those games deserves to be up there, and that's Uncharted 3. The rest do not.
