They changed Movarth's look.

If you do the Laid to Rest quest now Movarth has a new look. He's bald and creepy looking.

Actually you can kill him even after you do the quest, him and his group respawn. You only get his boots once though.

How can you tell his race on the Xbox 360? He is wearing the new Vampire armor.

Then what was the radiant about? I killed him twice with the same character before Dawnguard, he looked the same as he usually does. I killed him with Dawnguard installed he is bald and a Vampire Lord. Sorry it was dark and I was just quickly checking for uncleared ash piles. He landed face down and I never bothered looking at anything but his inventory. The bodies clear up pretty quick, there is nothing left of him at the moment till the Lair respawns.

Everytime he respawns he used to change races every time.

That is what they meant by he was radiant.

Thanks, no he had not previously changed on me. Maybe there was always the option for him to be bald then and I just never saw that version.

Pre-DG he was a diff race every playthrough because the book IB never told EXACTLY what his race was. Now ALL vamps are human or elf so he may have been limited

Who made Movarth Piquine of the cyrodillic vampirism: a blend of races, respawning & a volkihari bat monster?

Come on! Twas' Bethesda that silly? I mean, really, all I can do is take my head-to-desk right now.

It's dumb that he always respawns back. Once one is dead is dead. And why the hell should he change race???

Every time I fought him before DG he looked the same. Never noticed him as a different race.

I'm not entirely sure why they changed the appearance of all the vampires. You find a vampire in society and he has massive glowing eyes. That's normal for Tamriel?

I assume that the vampiric eyes are for visual style only, and that your average citizen of Tamriel is not supposed to see them that way. Perhaps a natural glamor spell or innate illusion magic that masks it. I'm just pulling that out of my rear however as its a convenient excuse for what should be a clear warning sign of vampirisim. There is a reason that in most vampire media they have 'normal' eyes for the most part. A little odd perhaps [a strange shade or subtle glow], or their 'true' eyes only appear while feeding or fighting or by choice, rather than having full on a demonic candle-glow or all blad with red irises. Even the Cyrodiilic vampires who were supposed to be able to blend in had red/pink eyes, when only one other race had anything close [the Dunmer] via a daedric curse.

So, yes. I'm going with a constant effect illusion spell that the player is not privvy to, as they do not need to be, except in certain quests where NPCs like Alva seem normal at first appearance.

Changing Morvarth's look is an odd choice. I'll make sure to do that quest before activating Dawnguard when it comes to the PC. Won't matter much, as its generally a quest you stumble through [reasonably] early and have no reason to go kill his respawns with.
