They could have done so much with the bards college

I know this has been said a few times but here, let me elaborate.

The bards college is a cool idea but... obviously due to Bethesda's rush, I don't think it was fully developed... well duh! so here's a few ideas that I've had that could have easily made it into the game.
  • Singing songs: Wow really! here's more info. They did it in Assassin's Creed Revelations were Ezio was a ministerial and you ran around a party and pressed one of the face buttons to play a note on his lute, he would than sing (badly) about past tales of killing templar, making it funny of course by making fun of people like Cesera, or other people. This could have been easily added by simply using the face notes to play chords. Now I know what you are thinking... maybe. to do that the Dragon born would need a voice... not necessarily. Have you ever tried to sing and play the flute? maybe the Dragonborn could have first started as drums for another bard? you just travel around to inns and play with other bards. Than he's told... I don't know he needs to play a flute for some reason because there arn't enough flute bards.
  • Could get a new follower, or an existing follower get accpeted into the college, and they could sing your tails as you fluted or drumed to it...
These are just a few ideas, what do you guys think? I highly doubt that any of these would be included into the game but one can hope right?

The Bard's College could have certainly used more content to it. You basically join the College...and that's it. There's no climbing through the ranks, and the Dragonborn is never able to sing or play the musical instruments, so they can never actually do anything that a bard does.

Solitude, in general, is lacking in content. For the biggest city and capital of Skyrim, it doesn't take long to see all there is to see, and lacking a proper guild doesn't help either.

I'm sure many people, including myself, would love to see a more fleshed-out Bard's College via patch or dlc. If the College is lacking in content due to the 11/11/11 release, then late is better than never to see whatever the developers may have intended originally.
