if they don't fix it , we're taking our games back

All of us on the Playstation 3 hardware and issues subforum are outraged by the texture pop in. But I'm even more outraged that id or Bethesda have not released a statement saying they will either fix it or not. Because of this, many of us are at a crossroads because we don't know if we should take our games back and get our hard earned 60 bucks back... or wait to see if they patch it. The lack of statement is plain rude, insulting and unfair to all of us consumers who put trust in this developer and publisher. I propose we stand united and give them a time limit to release some kind of word about the issue. I'll leave it up to you to decide how much time you think is necessary, but when the time is up we're all taking our broken games back. Hopefully this will get their attention. Hope everyone responds to this and confirms that they are with me on this!

Get over it. It does NOT ruin the game by any wild stretch of the imagination. It's hardly noticeable once you get into the game and are no longer focused on the issue. It will likely be fixed or at least acceptably improved with a patch. Many games have this texture popping problem even many other current titles. It used to be common on PC games before video card and system memory got larger and faster. If you want to blame anyone, blame Sony for nerfing the PS3 down from the planned specs of 512MB video and system memory to 256 just before releasing it. The 360 is not having this problem. In spite of this issue, this is the best looking and most fun game since God Of War III.

It's not a RAM problem as people with HDD's with higher RPM and SSD's are reporting to have significantly less to no texture pop in. Even the Xbox360 has texture pop in after the 21 GB install.
If you can tolerate the texture pop in then more power to you and I'm glad you're able to enjoy this game. However, there's no denying that the texture pop in is everywhere, even if you're playing normally and not looking for it. Hell even when you aim down sights you can see textures popping in on your ironsights and when you return to normal view you can see textures popping in on your gun. It's not game-breaking, but definitely immersion-breaking.

Maybe mine is not as bad. I do remember a patch installing that I've heard no one else talk about here.

There was a 64mb update when I first started the game, but it only added some extra content. However I have also read about a smaller patch on the gamespot forum, maybe it's just for the american version? I don't think it fixes the pop up anyway.

I'm taking the their silence as "They can't fix the problem", so i'm taking it back for a full refund and i will pick it up pre-owned later on down the line - if issues are sorted of course?

Shame really :sadvaultboy:

All I know are two things for sure. One is you ain't getting a full refund, I can promise you that. Two I'm getting sick of seeing all this negative crap. The texture pop in is not that bad if you sign out of the network.

You know how you here a song over and over and over on the radio and you get really sick of hearing it? That's how I feel about this, it gets old. You'd probably say turn off the radio or stop coming to the forums but I don't want to I like the forums and I like the group of people that have been on here before Rage came out, some of us are enjoying the game. Thank you ID!

The texture pop is indeed not that bad!
But it IS bad if you cant play the game anymore because the game slows down that hard!
Believe me!
