At least I think they kicked me out because of that. My latest character Shakti got the Dampened Spirits quest from her the other night, and after Maven ended it with an insult, there was just no holding Shakti back. Within a minute the floor was wiped with MBB, and 20 gold paid to a guard to make the bounty go away. She went off to do the job, but when she came back she found out that she was in trouble with the guild for some reason. All I can guess is that it was from beating the snot out of Maven. Really? Do they really expect people to interact with that beyotch and not Fus her across the room? I hope there are not many more TG quests involving her, since it looks like Shakit is going to get kicked out every time she does one...

No, she doesn't play a major role after her first couple quests. I really wish there was a way for the player to get rid of her. I can't stand the woman.

Yeah you got in trouble for kicking the [censored] out of Maven Your going to have to either pay them( it may be a thousand gold or it was the last time I got kicked out ) or steel the equal amount in loot. You smacked Maven around.... There is one more way to get in trouble with the Thieves guild without knowing it, if you kill a certain prisoner in a certain embassy you will end up having to pay a fine with the Thieves guild as well, so try to not kill any prisoners within the embassy while you visit.

Makes me hate her even more. Damn Karliah and her essential powers! She is useless after the questline, she must die!

After you do the thieves guild quests. If you're on PC, make Maven unessential, annnnnnnnnnnnnnd she's dead.

If you look in the in-game book Shadowmarks, there are different signs etched onto different doors in Skyrim, which tell you about the place. Where Maven Black-Briar stays, has the symbol for "Do not do anything to this person, or we will throw you out."

maven is rich and got lots of connections. the TG eats her fingers. she is basically the real owner of the guild.

Yep. Maven Black-Briar not only has connections with the Thieves Guild and Dark Brotherhood, but also the Thalmor. She becomes the Jarl of Riften if the Imperial Legions take Riften...yeah, that's the kind of people the Empire supports.

To be fair, Laila Law-Giver or whatever her name is is one of the most incompetent jarls in Skyrim. Maven may be a [censored], but she knows how to lead.

Yes, Maven is irritating. The topic for them may be closed, but I still come up with suitable retorts for obnoxious characters. My fave for Maven is:

MAVEN: "The throne suits me, don't you think?"
DRAGONBORN: "What would suit me would be you, lying in a broken, bleeding heap on the courtyard floor, amid your own intestines."
