They really need to make a DLC on par with the Shivering Isl

Post » Fri Nov 16, 2012 6:02 pm

Now i'm not saying one isn't planned. But i liked the shivering isles and all its content even more than vanilla Oblivion.
And i'm also not saying Dawnguard wasn't good, but it isn't on par with the quality the shivering isles was. I hope they make a good sized
expansion the size of the shivering isles it must be done.

I think I remember someone saying their plans were to release several smaller expansions over time, rather then just one big expansion. I'm guessing they're doing that so that people maintain interest longer, rather then waiting a long time where people have a tendency to declare "I'm done with this game" and be less likely to buy a big expansion.

Oblivion's first real expansion was knights of the nine so there's still hope ^^

i would preffer they would release an small expansion and in 2 or 3 years from now release the big one so that we can play for more 4 years while they start working on TES VI or FO 4 or something like that.,i mean they are probably already working on the next game with the story part.

I would generally love more daedric stuff for Skyrim. It wouldbhe also cool if you could help the Daedra in TES 6. I do not like that pro-nine stuff.

Another Daedric realm would be nice. But let it be something unseen.

I've read more then one book about video games and watched numerous programs and from what I've gathered after finishing a big project like skyrim they take a couple week break and then immediately begin working on the next one. Probably just design phase though, figuring out where they are going to stage it, what will be different, concept drawings, etc.

Bethesda has already said they are planning on releasing several smaller DLC's instead of big one's like Shivering Isles. Personally I would like to have both, but we simply can't have it all.

After 7 months, I expected something more from DG. Of course Bethesda would like to have 4-5 smaller expansions instead of 1-2 like SI, Tribunal or Bloodmoon. At 20$ a pop, they will earn more than releasing two fully fledged expansion for, what? 30$

Back when Oblivion came out, I skipped all the small DLCs because I felt they were not worth the money. I intend to do the same with Skyrim. Being on PC; it's not that I don't have additional content to play with...

The 1st dlc is never the biggest because they need more time to work on the "big one"

I want a expansion greater than shivering Isles in size and way more content, Like over 100 new weapons and armor and over 70 quests. with 2 massive new landmasses.

I'd perfer if a "big" expansion did come out, it didn't have to do with Daedra, Would be much more interesting if it had to do with something else, I mean your already the dragonborn and kill alduin, too many "end of the world" scenarios in one game makes it tiresome.

I thought they said they'd make huge expansions for Skyrim, specifically not like they did in Fallout 3...

 Color me confused.

that is among the top 10 most useless posts i have seen so far on these forums. the fact remains that they did say the dlc for skyrim will be more like an expansion rather than dlc. and dawnguard definately just feels like dlc. doesnt feel like it actually adds much of anything to the game. 1 new weapon type(crossbows), a few new armor/weapon skins, and a morph and way to balance the two morphs. it doesnt feel as big as they hyped up their dlc to be.
Spoiler
my major problem with dawnguard is the new added landmasses. with virtually nothing in them. soul cairn had nothing in it but the merchant for soul husks and the tomes that wasnt quest related. oh and the reaper which didnt give you anything special or remotely unique for finding the things required to summon him and killing him. and i didnt find much of anything worth actually searching for in the vale besides the new named dragons. and about 4 new alchemy items. yippee.

As an expansion? :ermm:
why not? didnt it get destroyed? go out and rebuild orsinium. make a lasting impact in the game. or maybe the orcs rise up and take a part of skyrim for themselves for new orsinium?

Wrong, Todd said they are making DLC's KOT9 - Shivering Isles size.
The third and final DLC will most likely be Shivering Isles size.

I thought they said that they are going to be making larger but fewer expansions rather than more but smaller expansions like fallout 3.

It will mostly likely be the third DLC, because that's when Bethesda knows they can release it on all platforms simultaneously.
