They released a patch for PC, how about us?

Post » Sat May 12, 2012 3:12 am

I just found out that they released a patch for PC that managed to resolve any problems with texture POP IN!!
What about us, the majority, Bethesda?? We all know that your game is selling better on the consoles than the PC. Every PS3 owner of Rage is complaining and yet you continue with your silence and tell us nothing! You should be ashamed for treating us like that and I think many of us will return the game the following days. This is absolutely unacceptable!! Watch youtube videos if you don't know how the texture pop in is with our platform damn it.

So I ask again, WHAT ABOUT US PS3 owners??

I don't think they fixed the texture pop-in on pc. They just released a workaround to make the game "work" till the driver issues are solved mainly by amd and ati so some people may stop cursing. But apperently, the cursing has not stopped.

Patience, i have great faith in id solving/fixing all the issues on all the platforms. They have always done so with all their games.

Guys, let's keep this topic bumped in hope that someone notices it.
Id have yet to release a statement about this issue and Tweets from me and other users to id officials concerning this issue have remain unresponded. I understand that the PC version needed to be worked on because it had the most problems but just as the PC users we are paying customers and we deserve to be listened to. This is not nitpicking; everyone that has the PS3 version is complaining about the texture pop in, it's everywhere and the game is unenjoyable because of it. In some parts even the slightest nudge of the anolog stick causes textures to pop in.
We're at least asking for an official statement, even a simple "we're looking into it" would suffice but we've yet to hear even that.

Sorry if I sound a bit rude but the lack of feedback from id/Bethesda is really pissing me off.

Indeed, the game runs better, but the pop-in is still there on ATI cards.

No really, I feel the same way. I was thinking about buying Resistance 3 when it came out a month ago, but I waited and bought Rage instead thinking it ought to be stable and good coming form ID with 7 years of development. I really believed in Carmack and the rest of the ID team. Instead I feel like I'm being screwed over by both the developer and the publisher, with no feedback or any other info.

However the worst think about the whole situation is that some players are actually kinda defending the game, or atleast they don't acknowledge that this is a problem that needs to be fixed. I even read an article in a major norwegian news site/paper about the PC version having huge problems and they wrote at the end of the article "at this time there are no reports of any console problems". I left a comment, but I got shoved down the comment section pretty fast, so it seems like no one cared.

Sure there are some complaints on this forum, and on the gamespot forum, IGN forum, but as whole it doesn't really seem like the majority care that much. Only some reviews mention it and even the tech article at lensoftruth didn't mention this as anything more than a minor problem. Just think about it, It's been 3-4 weeks since they finished the game, there is no way they didn't know about this and there still is no sign of any patch...I hope I'm wrong but I really feel like us PS3 users are getting ignored. I'll be pleasently surpised if they fix this within a week or even at all.

Hopefully I'm awfully wrong.

well for me the games only been releases since the 7th oct which was friday, now i dont know about the rest of you guys but the majority of people tend not to work over the weekend, and the guys making these games an dealing with sorting out bugs an stuff i really cant see gettin up at the weekend an comin into work or gettin on these forums an wanting to go through all the posts/threads complaining about the game an replying to them etc.
so yea to expect feedback on bugs an an eta on a patch when the game hasnt even been out for whole week yet is imo takin the piss a bit an expecting waay too much, i bet they have hardly even had a chance to look at how bad the texture pop is yet let alone decide how to go about fixing it. this thread would actually be justifiable if the game had been released for week or 2 an the devs have actually had a chance to look at the issues first an figure out how to resolve them. even if the game was released on teh 4th in some places its still only 3 extra days, give them a chance people, the game is still playable an the problem is only really a big issue when outside in the wasteland, indoors its no where near as bad, im in ghost hideout now an there is practically zero texture pop at all. it is rather bad outside an a really big shame as it does ruin the games gorgeous graphics.
i do hope they release a patch soon though as i dont want to stop playing an also dont want to end up finishing the game before its fixed.

Is it just me or is like every Beth soft published or made by themselves, always has some big issue on the beginning of release day as if it were policy to have their technical team get some action..
like Fallout 3 never got patches for ps3 until way later and even then still some heavy glitches; hunted forgot their rendering til after release patch the graphics turned decent yet glitches/crashes remained (I don't know about now though) I may be speculating but I never seen Id software do something like this, I know Id software has had issues on other games they've made but they were never like this, at least to my experience...

Well It's not like they finished the game the 4th of october. I dunno exectly when the game went gold (started production of discs and so on), but it's probably 3-4 weeks ago. So plenty of time to work on a patch. Game designers work all the time, they are used to working odd hours. Either way I don't think anyone expect them to fix this right now today, but is an simple explanation really to much to ask for?

I'm at the mission where I'm supposed to go into Dead City for the first time and I really feel like not doing that mission since most of the people here said the POP IN gets worse there... Jeezus, I like the game so much but this technical problems are killing me.

Any update Bethesda?

To be honest, I'm used to texture pop-in now. I'm enjoying the game a lot.
