Thieves Guild Trophies, Want To Do Them As Fast As Possible.

Post » Mon Jun 04, 2012 8:32 pm

I am doing the f**king stupid thieves guild quests for the trophies and the trophies alone.

I can get platinum, that is the only reason I am pissing about with these pathetic, bulls**t jokes of quests.

The sooner I get them done the better. I never say such a pathetic, cretinous, more killable, more sentimentally portrayed, group of people on a game, ever.

They make the hideous Caesers Legion trophies on Fallout New Vegas seem easy.
And they they were in comparison to this crap.
All I had to do there was slam through the main quests when I was the bare minimum level to do it.
And that's what I did, I slammed through doing the barest minimum possible, ignoring every single thing they said and being as rude and insulting as possible to every single one of them.
Then I deleted everything to to do with the unfortunate male who had to do them and said sorry to him for having to make him do them.

And that is what I will do with these freaking stupid and over fussy quests.

So, what is the barest minimum possible way to get these f**king quests done, as fast and and straightforwardely as possible.
I cannot bring myself to look at my kad'jitt, they're that freaking stupid and nasty.
Then I will obliterate every single member of the TG who will die.

When I get those trophies I will delete every single save of Meriel Zey.
I never hated doing things for a trophy as much as this. Ever.

I hate it so much, the saves don't even count as the game anymore.

I will get these pathetic quests done in pieces at a time, as fast as I can before the nausiating stupidity and sentimentality gets to me and makes me want to throw up, and do nothing else that I don't have to do.
She does'nt count as a playthrough anymore.
There is no way in hell I am going througha normal playthrough as a scumbag thief or with the people I like hating me.

I made a new character, for actually playing the game and doing what I want.
That is my game.

I took madesis ring, put it back, failed the quest.
No way was I hurting him or Brand-Shei, ever!

Joined the pathetic TG.
Got to a quest were you go after Kaliah.

I am never wearing the thieves armour, ever. I am going to throw it away somewere I will never see it again. I have absolutely zero interest in anything to do with the TG. If I could incinerate it then spit on the ashes, I would.
If I am forced to find the nightingale armour and have no other choice, that will get the same fate.

So, I know it is'nt as easy and logical as doing just the main quest like with CL.
Everyong elses quest trophies are do the main quest only. But not the f**king overdone, overpromoted TG.

So can someone list the hideous quests for the bare minimum for the trophy.
And I mean barebones, absolutely barest minium possible ever.
Shortcuts, skipping whole sections of quest, anything to make it go faster.

Is there a option to destroy the TG at some point? Because I will most definately be doing that if there is.

So, can someone please help me?

My only recommendation is to copy your save file, play from there, then delete when you have the trophies. That way you can keep most your best equipment and such so the quests are easy.

P.S. Don't throw the Thieves Guild equipment away.

It's already saved seperately so I can't mix it up with my proper one. And I have no interest in the character after, she is getting deleted.
And yes, the TG anything will get thrown away while doing it. I refuse to have anything to do with the items.

Going to have to be a bit careful having the real playthrough there too though.
So I will have to save a lot more than normal.
Unless it deferentiates between diferent characters in autosaves. If it it does it will be good.

But I will save the trophy run on a usb stick if nessesery.

No, you don't understand. You NEED the armor set to continue through the quest line. There is a point where you are required to get it upgraded, and if you don't have it you're screwed.

Don't throw it away until you finish.

THEN throw it away all you want.

Do you mean the hideous grey crap or the hideous nightingale crap.
Or both.
They're both disgusting and foul.

Unless I picked up the wrong impression- maybe the TG isn't for you. I got the subtle impression that you were not pleased with it.

The TG was one of the best guild quests. Why you hate it? It gives you some great Light Armour with the Nightingale set, one of the best swords in the game, Chillrend, some other decent gear with the Nightingale Bow and Blade, you also get some great powers at the end, or the Skeleton Key... it's quite good.

If you want to finish off the TG quest line, you need one piece of TG armor (doesn't matter which one) because you have to upgrade it to continue. I think there are a couple of sets of gloves and a couple of sets of boots laying around the cistern, probably as backups in case someone sells/loses the original set. The might disappear at some point. It's not something that I've checked on. You don't need to save the Nightingale Armor at all, but both sets have decent enchantments for a stealth/light-armor oriented character.

There is a Silver Trophy for completing the whole quest line, which means doing every quest plus at least five "jobs" quests and one "special" quest in each of the major holds (Whiterun, Solitude, Markarth and Windhelm). If you want to do the jobs quickly, you'll probably need to quit a lot of quests (they're generated kind of randomly) so that you can get to the one or two that you might need to finish each hold. You don't get the details (who, what and where) until you've agreed to do the job, so you'll have to quit in order to generate a new one. Plays havoc with your completed/failed quests stats, though.

There is also a Silver trophy for pickpocketing 50 people. While it can be done on its own, it meshes rather nicely with the pickpocketing jobs for the TG, so you can essentially deal with two trophies at once. But 50 pickpockets is more than twice what you need for the TG jobs.

There is no way to destroy the Thieves Guild. If you're that opposed to them, just stay away. You lose out on that Platinum Trophy, but if the whole TG thing riles you that much, the trophy can't be worth the heartburn.

My advice, screw the trophies. Games are supposed to be fun. If you're not having fun doing a quest line, don't do it.

Thank you. I am seriously considering not bothering with it. The quaratined save will probabely end up deleted before I can be be bothered to finish the trophies.
But uncompleted trophies and platinums I could get and I could do, annoy me, lol.
And I can go the rest.
I draw the line at ridiculously hard and immpossible ones though. Like stupid, immpossible online ones. Some I don't even try.
I did the Caesers Legion trophies in the mistaken belief that the platinum was possible on Fallout New Vegas. It is'nt. F**king caravan bulls**t trophies. They are never going to be done. I would get platinum if it were'nt for those waste of trophies! But it was a LOT easier and far, far more logical to do the CL ones. You could actually kill the people you hated in them.
I have a lot of the trophies done on skyrim, like 79%.
It pisses me off when trophies I could do stop me getting platinum.
Really pisses me off when they make cretinous, waste of trophy space, garbage trophies that stop me getting platinum. Like FONV.
I don't bother if it's immpossible. Space Marine, Fear 3, etc.
I draw the line at trying not to die in parts of the game on Space Marine. Yeah, I won't die when a big orc drives Titus into the ground headfirst then hits him with a warhammer, not. And I will soooo survive a whole chapter using the useless Vengence Launcher only. NOT.

Not going to piss about with the stupid and pointless pickpocketing trophy on this pile of crap save.
That trophies actually borderline functional and does'nt deserve to be associated with this crap.
If I could reverse pickpocket explosives into peoples pockets, like in FO3 and FONV, I would be a bit more motivated to do it, lol.
But you can't do that on skyrim, shame.
I will do it over time.
Send a character round pickpocketing people wearing the the dark brotherhood set with high stealth got from many assasinations, once or twice in multiple playthroughs, to boost the amount, then go back to the save before.

I will upgrade one piece of hideous grey crap then.

If it comes to it I will not bother wasting my time and not get the platinum.

This was painful to read... I don't think you should play anymore until you either calm down about the game or lose your addiction to trophies.

:o The Nightingale Armor is fine as hell (OK, the cape is a bit goofy, but the rest is fine looking). :P Unless you meant "disgusting" for the TG armor and "fowl" for the Nightingale. :D

Not a chance in hell.
I wanted and want nothing to do with that stupid b**tch Karliah.
I threw it away in the wilds in a place were no one could give it back or ask for it.

Same for ever single thing to do with the TG.

I got the trophies and it's all done! Hooray for that.
Never have to piss about with this crap ever again!
The saves are all deleted.

The nightingale armour is the ugliest, most stupid looking armour I have ever seen in the entire game.
It looks like a cheap batman costume. The 'skirt' is the most unflattering thing I ever saw.
The cloak is horrible. The entire thing makes you look bottom heavy.
I put it on once to fulfill the quest then took it off straight away.
I threw it away in the wilds, were no one could find it and give it back to me or ask for it.

I threw the ugly grey armour away in the wilds, the sword I threw straight at Karliah and Brynjolf, the amulet in the wilds and the guildmasters armour was thrown away in the wilds.
I was tempted to throw the lot into rivers, but that would have polluted the rivers anyway, so no point.

And I have to say, that is the worst written questline in the entire game.
It's not even consistant.
One minute you are robbing Torsten Cruel-Sea, the next he is asking for help and is your fence. Stupid.

Noctural is a idiot. She can't find followers on her own, she offers nothing at all and demands ridiculous ammounts for nothing.
You don't even keep the key. They're guarding a item no one uses and guarding nothing for excessive ammounts of work, while getting nothing.

I refused to waste time on it and took none of the blessings. Just left when it was done.

You don't even need her help to fight Mercer, she does'nt even give you any help.
But you are forced to give your soul to her. No other option.
When with every other daedra it is optional. If you don't want to do it, don't do it. But not Noctural.
Mercer Frey is pathetic and I defeated him fast with low health potions.
You need no help with that.

Well, you're certainly entitled to your opinion. Frothing at the mouth over one questline in a game is pretty odd though.... I'd suggest you watch your blood pressure - if you keep this up you're likely to die young.

Return to V - Skyrim
