*Getting captured. Okay, GTA, TES and some other games do it. But how good is it executed? In GTA the cops will try to kill you, but if they come close enough to you they will bring you down with no chance of resisting and then you will spawn outside of a police station. It would be cool if you could try and run away with cuffs, or even see when they drag you to jail in the car. You could either skip it or try to bail out of the car. I don't know - something at least.
In TES you are given the chance to bribe, pay, go to jail or resist. The system works pretty good - you can even try to escape jail. if you succed you will be wanted. But something is missing! Any guard from the Hold will recognize you. You should be able to disguise. This would've made the system complete! In Splinter Cell: Double Agent (original Xbox, not 360/PS3) there was russian tanker-level where you could get caught and then escape. It was pretty fun, they should have implented this in more levels. For example in regular gameplay in SC if you are caught you have failed. They should've used the escape-system from the Tanker level in other levels as well.
*Eat and sleep. There aren't many games where you HAVE TO eat and sleep. I want this, at least in free-roaming RPG/action games. You can eat in GTA and Skyrim, but you don't have to. it would be cool if you started to get hungry and thirsty - even sleepy. Try fighting a bear when you're so tired you can bareley keep your eyes open - let alone a sword in your hand! Sure, FO: NVs hardcoe mode explored this. I want to see this extended in more games. it would be cool if you were so dehydrated or sleepy that you would start seeing and/or hearing things and so forth. Of course eventually death.
*Fear. Sure, in most games you are a fearless killing machine. But it would be cool if the character in some way got scared. in Skyrim for example, trolls and giants are dangerous and it would be fun if the character in some way reacted to this. Dark corners of the Earth and Eternal darkness explored this and I liked it. Didn't anyone else? if so, why isn't this is in many games? And why doesn't people fear the character? In Skyrim how dare the bandits attack the Dova? Even if they don't know this is the Dova, the Shout should make them aware of it. Everyone knows Ulfric shouted, so they should fear the Dova even more when they hear the famous three words... But no, they just get up again and start swinging away.
*Wounds. So you've fought countless monsters and/or baddies? Well I wouldn't be able to tell because that armor looks exactly like it did when I sold it to you... Clothing and armors should get dented/ragged - in every game. Took a bullet in the leg? I can't find a wound! In Batman AA and AC the armor and cloak gets damaged and we see Batmans wounds underneath it. Cool feature - copy from them!
Add your thoughts! I've got more to tell, this is what my coffee break allowed me to write down! (No spell check has been made)
