I think my crash-to-desktops are causes by my soundcard driv

I built my computer myself. I have the Gigabyte X58A-UD3R with an Intel i7 950 CPU, and an NVIDIA GTS 450 (not GTX 460, but good enough to run this game on maximum settings without any lag at all). 6 gigabytes of G.SKILL RipJaws (oh, yeah). This PC will play anything on maximum settings, really. But pretty much every Bethesda game I own (Oblivion, Fallout 3) crashes to the desktop at seemingly random times. This game has only done it three, so far. But I am starting to think it has something to do with sound. I noticed my sound card driver (onboard sound card: RealTek High-Def Audio, sounds generic) is from April, 2010. I just went to the motherboard site and got the driver from 2011. Whether this helps or not, I will post in here again.

Has anyone else crashed just before a sound plays? Like the rocks falling from the ceiling in a cave, especially? And as I mentioned before yesterday, when escaping your execution, and coming up on the first "lever" to pull, to open a gate. Whenever the ceiling collapses after passing through that, the game crashes for me.
