I think I am going to put Skyrim down for a while.

This is not a complaint thread. I love Skyrim, and have had hundreds and hundreds of hours of enjoyment from it. I have literally been playing nothing else since day one.

In the last couple months, I find I just keep making new characters to try and get different fun from the game. I usually end up scrapping them because the only character I can seem to stick with is a warrior, and I have played 2H and 1H to death. I would love to be a destruction mage, but it is just too weak at high levels.

So even though there is still some stuff I haven't done yet, and the incredible looking Dragonborn DLC coming up, I am probably going to put the game down for a while. Maybe a long while. It isn't that new content wouldn't be welcome, it is I have become bored with the way I play the game content - old or new.

I guess the point of this thread is to see if anyone has any suggestions of builds that are fun, but will not become overpowered (or underpowered). I do not like to rely on illusion. I don't mind using some conjuration, but again, I don't like to rely on it.

I have played a pure archer before, but didn't get past level 20 before scrapping her. Maybe it could work. It was fun, but I was getting demolished up close, and with the build I would want, I didn't have enough perks to invest in one handed.

Thoughts? Again, I am not complaining. This is probably my favorite game of all time - which is why I will be sad to put it down for a long time.

Play another game if you feel like playing another game. Don't feel you have to play Skyrim. Few of us play the same game week after week, month after month, year after year. Any game will become monotonous if you play it too much. Play a different game for awhile. I do it. I'm sure most all of us do it. Come back to Skyrim when you feel like it.

Put down the Skooma while you're at it.

I was leave Skyrim for months and played New Vegas while at it. Then I came back again recently. It's feels fresh. One thing I missed most was the athmospheres.

This.

I play Halo but I have to put it down sometime. Don't feel bad about leaving Skyrim for a while. Stop play it until the new DLC comes out. I am pretty sure you will get back into the groove of things.

Sounds like game fatigue. Take a break, play another game and come back when you feel like it. I'm just back from a break of a couple of months and it works wonders.

We will not condemn You for playing a non Bethesda (or Obsidian built) game, just do not tell Us :teehee:
Seriously, I have the same problem and Fallout is similiar enough in the controls to allow You to return to Skyrim and go right back into a character (except for forgetting Hotkey Bindings).
I will take a break after making a few characters ready for Dragonborn.
If you are on PC, FCOM 1.0 is released and Wrye Bash is stable enough to make Oblivion new and exciting.

I took a break from Skyrim a few months ago, and was on it when Dawnguard came out for PC.. didn't even buy the DLC until a little over a month after it had been out. I also took a few breaks from playing Oblivion as well, and sometimes I do it because I play it so much I get burned out.. then after a while I want to get back into the game and play even more.

If they made FCOM for Skyrim and I had Oblivions music to go with it.. I'd never be able to leave the game. :D
