Based on what has been confirmed by Bethesda, and considering what might transition over from Oblivion, are there things you would like modded in the PC version of Skyrim?
I've been trying to seek out information on this, but I would assume that Skyrim will follow a similar clothing system as Oblivion did rather than Morrowind; in this I mean that one will not be able to throw a robe over a full set of Daedric armor, right?
In light of this, I would love to have the modding community tackle this, which would aid Spellswords and Battlemages like me. It was a huge blow to the gameplay experience for me in Oblivion when I found this was not possible.
Next, and I'm sure somebody has mentioned this before, I wouldn't mind a mod that somehow circumvents the limitation of 70 perks per character (of the 250 available). It could be scaled such that after level 50, one would receive more than one perk per level—or something along those lines. I simply don't see myself creating numerous characters to take advantage of all the perks. Never did in the past and I don't intend to now. I like to embrace the atmosphere for the first time, but tire of redundancy found in multiple characters (even if they're drastically different regarding karma and skill-focus). So why not make the game more lasting and enjoyable for those single-character-creators like me?
I am also curious as to what extent scrolls will be involved in the game. The more I think about it, the more genius I think they are. Bear with me, as I'm slow to catch on and this has been an epiphany for me, but scrolls are useful for those who do not choose to be spellswords/battlemages and split their skills down the middle—for those who choose to throw everything into combat rather than magicka. It makes "gameplay balancing" sense that a scroll would be much more costly than purchasing spells, as the consumer is making up for his or her ineptitude in magicka (like baking a cake yourself over buying a ready-made birthday cake with all decoration done: you'll pay more due to your lack of skill and time put fourth).
The problem I've found with scrolls in past titles is that they are simply too weak to often justify using them (save for summon golden saint, etc.). What I suggest is the following:
1. Provide weak scrolls, but also very powerful scrolls—scrolls that are rare to find or very costly to purchase.
2. Much like there were "spell-makers" in Morrowind or in the Academy in Oblivion, consider allowing for traders who can make custom scrolls... With near-limitless range/power... But at a cost of course...
3. Likely beyond the ability of modders and more of a suggestion for a future Elder Scrolls, consider coupling scroll-creation with the Enchanting skill.
Anyway, just throwing some thoughts out there as I anxiously await tomorrow night.
