I'm going to be in the area and I have a chance to visit Detroit..... but from all I've seen/read about it, it seems like Detroit is nothing but a post-apocalyptic hell hole that should be avoided at all costs. Still, the city can't be as bad as its portrayed is it? Does anyone here have any personal experience/knowledge of Detroit they can share with me?

What is it that interests you in Detroit?

Hard to say, I can't say there's any one thing that really interests me, I just like visiting as many places as possible if I can get the chance, so its more of a 'why not' situation.
