Is This Allowed?

I'm not one who likes to get into trouble so I'll ask first..

I kinda lost Auriel's Shield... Didn't picked it up so it "left-the-game" with the dead Falmer who had it..But I didn't knew it was there so can't rly blame me, can you?

Anyways... I was wondering if I could transfer my Save Game to the PC and do, whatever is needed to do, and add the shield to my inventory? Like, is it legal to do or not?

I don't want any trouble so a simple yes or no would be fine then I'll have this locked.

You just want to get Auriel's Shield put in your inventory? I'm not even sure if they have the id code of it yet but wouldn't be surprised if they do.

From what I'm gathering, you want to take the DLC itself and put it onto the PC. I honestly don't know if that's illegal, but I too am interested in this...

me thinks it wont work... the add-on/plug in of dawnguard aint really out yet for pc...so even if you have Skyrim an the CK on your pc you mite actually lose more stuff if you dont watch yourself. there will be files missing from DG when you load it up to make changes...i guess the ony up side is you get to redo DG on console again???... i miss doing that :( ... on pc you could just load a game with a plug in disabled...exit..load again with it enabled an start all the expansions over again :)

People have already done it, apparently. So I'm pretty sure porting Dawnguard is possible, but I honestly have no idea as to how one could possibly do it.

Since Microsoft finally allowed to use USB drives (specially partitioned) to store saved games, I don't see how this qualify as 'hacking'.

If you go around telling everyone you're going to do it, it counts as tampering. But, it's near impossible to find out otherwise.

And you can restart the DLC by deleting the DLC, loading your save and saving in a new slot, then downloading the dlc and loading your newest save.

I lost two of the Paragons due to shouting the frost giants out of where I could reach them...

I was just going to save in a vanilla location. uninstall my DLC, save again, then re-install and re-do DawnGuard. This would work, correct?

Even if it was illegal, Beth would never know. No one would ever know except for you, and frankly no one would care.

I don't think there is anything wrong with modifying a save on a single-player game. So don't worry so much.

Wait for the DLC to come out on PC, either buy it yourself or bring the save on a USB to a friend who has the PC version, load up the game, get the ID off UESP or simply search for it using the "Help" console command. Add the item then save and transfer it back.

No this is not hacking, it is not illegal and is no different than using the console commands on the PC just with 2-3 added steps.

Also anyone that says doing so is "illegal" or "wrong" is just being [censored]. This is a single player game and adding an item or even adding a thousand affects no one else. I transfer my saves back and forth all the time to use a mod to clear ash piles or to fix a broken quest.

TC if you want a step by step guide on how to do save transfers just send me a PM and I'll write one up for you so you can get your shield when the PC version of DG comes out.

Don't you need to have Skyrim for PC in order to "modify" your 360 save?

Yes, but if you don't have a copy there is always the option of asking a friend who does.

Hell, if TC can't find someone with a PC copy I'd be more than willing to do it for him if he e-mails me a copy of the save when the PC version of DG comes out as it would literally take me less than 5 minutes to extract the Savegame.dat, add the one item then put the data back in and e-mail it back to him.

I guess I'll ask you to do it then cause my computer isn't good enough to run Skyrim. (Why do you think I have it for the 360?)

And you can fix broken quests via this? Does that mean you can fix "Blood on the Ice" or w/e that Windhelm quest is? (I want to get the Necro's Ammy since it is an original artifact.)

Yep, I don't know the commands but you can push your way threw a quest using command console. You can also fix ash piles, stuck quest items in your inventory etc...etc... :tops:

Actually.. I just remember that I did have someone do this kind of thing for me b4 back when 1.5 was newest Patch.. I feel stupid for forgetting that.. All I requested was to add some spells, finish TG quest w/o losing skeleton key, and edit follower's stats...

He did added some powers that I wish to be removed cause I shouldn't even have them... Idky but he gave me the Vampire Powers and Vampiric Drain.....

@Jusey 1
Doing this is all well and good as far as I know. Your not adding anything to the game or Xbox and your not hacking, your using a feature that's built into the game but it's locked out for us console players. The best advice I can give is to avoid using the command console for gaining achievements like the one for having 1 000 000 coin, or the Oblivion walker, this way your not breaking any rules and you still have to do it yourself. Also, I wouldn't get any unique items before you have actually gotten it in game yourself, 1) you might bug out the item, the Ring of Hircine for example will stop working if you have two copies of it. 2) Some things cannot be improved at a smith if you haven't unlocked it yet, I tried to upgrade my TG master armor but couldn't because I haven't done the entire quest and didn't unlock it yet. So just have an eye on what your doing and don't over do it :goodjob:

 as long as you use moderation your all good. The biggest one to avoid is the command for unlocking all spells and shouts in the game( even the ones your not supposed to have ) this will glitch you game out something fierce.
