THIS GAME IS SO GOOD THAT

Post » Sat May 12, 2012 11:45 am

I have decided to stop playing it.

Last weekend as i did my fifth char, and because i have view distance maxed, i saw a strange construction in the cliff just opossite of the place where the "tutorial" is over and then you are free to wander.
So i went there just to take a look.
I found and completed the GOLDEN CLAW quest, and when it was done i was as impressed as i was 15 years ago or so when i got and used my first summon in Final Fantasy 7.
So i took a hard decision, i am not gonna play this game now, because this is a game we rpg lovers get once in a decade, and i am not gonna steal myself the pleasure of playing it on its total splendor, Meaning i am gonna wait till it is fully patched, has DLCs, nearly sure at least 2 expansions and like a zillion quality mods.
After the horrible year of epic fail RPG releases, this jewel of game is gonna be able to make this year unforgettable for people who like RPGs.

So this is it; i will keep posted in this forum, in RPGnews and in TESnexus and other modding sites but i am not gonna play it .

I can respect that, I think that helped me love Oblivion like I did.

You've got way more self control than I have ;)

I'll play through and then after the mods/dlcs are out I'll play through again. I'm one of those people that can happily read the same book several times (providing it's great).

Best way I think there is to do it with games like these that will inevitably have a couple of expansions and lots of DLC, is to finish the game once or twice while its still vanilla, and then get the eventual GOTY/complete DLC pack and play it through a hundred billion times.

I actually THOUGHT about this.

I was only exposed to Oblivion in around 2007-2008, when it was patched and fixed and the DLCs had already come out. I think that's why it immediately became my favorite game ever.

Skyrim, to be as good, still needs the final patches and still needs its share of DLCs, but there's no way I'm gonna have the willpower to stay away from it. So I succumb to temptation.

That u decided to do the thread title in ALL CAPS?

Meh, I'm playing now on the Xbox and by the time I've finished that (very casual / slow gamer here... in this game you actually get to pick the flowers as well as smell them) the GOTY edition and loads of mods should be out to buy for my PC.

A valid and interesting point

But I can live with the various glitches, I will play through with different character types and then do a bit of rp'ing, by which time the patches will have been released and the dlc should be out
