is this game worth buying 60 dollars?

Post » Mon Oct 15, 2012 3:27 am

Is the game really worth buying tho? like is it good? cause I bought RAGE and well if you played it, you know what I mean, it was a ok game but they focused too much on realism/high-end graphics than care about making a replay-value type of game.... so this game worth buying or not? I know it's in first-person, I'm used to that...

It's definitely worth the $60 in my opinion. The game took me around 17 hours to beat the first time though it is extremely replayable as there are a multitude of ways to approach your missions (I would recommend disabling the arrow pointing to your objective to increase exploration of a level, however). That being said it is a somewhat stealth-focused game and while it can be played in a guns blazing manner you might not get as much out of it, so i recommend you read some http://www.metacritic.com/game/pc/dishonored and decide for yourself.

OP, we don't know much about what kind of games you prefer, so it's a bit hard to say with 100% certainty if this
game's for you, but as vincennes said, look around, read some spoiler-free reviews and go from there. Although
you CAN play it in a more action-oriented way, it is designed to be more of a first-person *sneaker*, in the vein of
Splinter Cell or (more closely) Thief.

For me, it was certainly worth it. Stamp of approval, would buy again given a choice.

For me it was absolutely worth the price. I'm on my fourth playthrough (16h, 13h, 12h) and as vincenns said, turning off the objective markers lets you really get into exploration (12 hours in and I'm not even done with the first mission), without the constant reminder of where you have to go. It may be hard to find your way, so personally I only recommend disabling the objective markers on a subsequent playthrough.

I feel like it was well worth my $60 despite how short it is.

There is no way that anyone besides you can say for certain if the game is worth the 60 dollars.

Definitely, Its worth every cent. I already have 26 hours spent (1 playthrough and a half) and plan to start at least 2 more playthroughs.

The replay value is amazing!

I haven't even finished the game yet-- I think I still have another two or three levels to go?-- and I'm already at 20+ hours. The game is not short if you don't rush through it. I'm having a blast with the gameplay, everything is so bloody beautiful and interesting, and I'm going to be replaying it as soon as I finish this first run. Definitely worth $60. And I haven't said that about a game in ages.

For sure, totally worth the money for me anyway. I love everything about it, pulling off kills is just so satisfying among every other thing in the game.

No, not at all. Rent it first then decide.

Yes, honestly, it is.

It is. Dishonored is worth every penny. I'm 12-15 hours in and only on the third mission. Playing on hard. There is a lot to explore, lots of good loot, upgrades, open level design and even sidequests. Music and menu sound effects are good, too.

Judging by your name?
It is a quality experience as opposed to a quantity experience. Skyrim had a lot of quantity but very little quality. In fact its quality was...its quantity....

Dishknored is about quality, not quantity. But then again, the quantity is not that bad either.

But if he decides he wants it he'll be out of the rental money and the game will cost much more than $60

Not finished yet but I'd say so far yes it is. It's a quality PC port too.
