This glitch is preventing me from continuing.

I am playing Skyrim on the Xbox 360. I'm loving Dawnguard itself, but what I'm not loving is the seeming large amount of glitches and bugs that I've encountered. At least every other questline I have to revert or reload to get something to work like it's suppose to, sometimes repeatedly. I'll hit random spots where the game will just lag incredibly. Sometimes it just plan freezes. But at the moment, it appears the game thinks that I am both a Dawnguard and a Vampire. I am definitely a Dawnguard. *Spoilers* I am in the questline "Prophet" where I am tasked to find the Moth Priest. I went to Forebears' Holdout to rescue him after he was captured, but when I get there it has both the Moth Priest and the Main Vampire (in this area) marked with white arrows. I kill the main vampire (a few hours later. This is one spot where it started lagging terrifically. After letting my Xbox cool down and it was still lagging, I concluded that it wasn't possible over-heating. After another couple reverts, it finally stopped.) but the Moth Priest is still attacking me. I reverted another couple times, but this problem persisted. I was finally able to beat him down, and while he was on the ground I was able to speak to him calmly. However, as soon as I told him to go to Fort Dawnguard and I end the conversation, he starts attacking me again. At this point, I paralyze him and make a beeline for the exit. I am now at Fort Dawnguard, but the Moth Priest is still attacking me, and as a result, he is attacking everyone and everyone is attacking him. Except this time when he gets downed, I can't talk to him and he just procedes with firing Fireballs at anyone he sees.

I have been able to get around the bugs so far, but now I absolutely cannot continue because I am unable to talk to the Moth Priest. I don't mean to complain. I am truely in love with this game and enjoy playing it immensely, but the bugs and glitches lately are getting insanely annoying. Please tell me somebody has had this problem, or one like it, besides me.

You have to dismiss Serana before you rescue him.

I do? Does her appearence there make him think that I'm an enemy? Because so far, she's my favorite follower. She's my favorite vampire next to Babbette.

It's just a bug. It will be fixed soon, hopefully.

Well, if what you say is true, I think I will have to revert a couple hours' worth of work. :(

It was worse for me, my last save was before I started Dawnguard and a bug with my pre-Dawnguard saves freezing up during the loading screen made it even worse.

Oh my Talos, you gotta hate stuff like that when it happens. I think it's bad enough when I lose 10 minutes worth of progress. I disabled the autosaving when traveling to greatly reduce loading times, so the only time the game saves is when I tell it to. Sometimes this svcks, like when I get randomly mauled by a bear in the wilderness (curse you bears!), but I still prefer the near instant loading times. I wish saving didn't take sooo long just because I progress in the game.

I was a beta tester, so it didn't bother me too much. I expected that sort of thing to happen. svcks Beth hasn't fixed it yet.

I have Selena as a follower & had no problem with the Moth Priest. He's back @ the fort & gave me his assignment, but no option to tell him I already have one of those quest items on me.

Re: Selena, yes, very powerful, very hot, but really annoying. Continually asking me, yes what do you need when I'm not even near her, & she circles me in a crouch wheI'm talking to others. Anybody else getting this?
