The development has been focused on the PC and Mac. Post release and by the time the two consoles arrive, they are going to be focused on new content and the running of the game. They aren't really going to have the time and resources to port and develop the game again.

And theres the hassle of setting up the additional servers and the like.

So, I'd say very unlikely.

MMOs have been on consoles before, but they have always been simultaneous releases with the PC.

The game would probably be 4 years old+ at that point. Unless the Next Gens are coming out far sooner than expected

I think the xbox720 and ps4 should be able to handle this kind off game bethesda should really look into it for a launch on those platforms seems like a logical next step for the series on platform play don't you think?

One: Bethesda isn't making this game.

Two: By the time the consoles do arrive, the dev teams are going to be focused on content and the running of the PC and Mac platforms.

This^

Consoles dumb down MMORPG play (these games require lots of different actions that need to be mapped to various keys)...and there's nothing worse than a console port to a computer :brokencomputer:

And the costs of porting a game that -potentially- could be a year old by then (Longer if rumours of the PS4's later release are accurate) plus the costs of setting up additional servers (Especially as one of MS's rules is that Xbox players can't play with PS players. Supposedly what prevented an xbox release of DCUO) and setting up teams to focus on those platforms for troubleshooting, maintenence etc?

They claim it's going to run on pretty low spec pc's, so you may be able to play it on whatever you're using to post here.

Has been mentioned in other threads.

The way the console handles connections, its limitations, how would the game actually be serviced

Controls....

Too much for too little, nothing is impossible, but if i had to pick something to be impossible, this would be it. Won't be happening any time soon

I wouldn't rather count on that now, I suppose you can play the next Elderscrolls Game when It comes out quite later.
