Is this laziness? Also, how do you get a paypal account?

Post » Tue Oct 09, 2012 7:47 am

I rarely don't talk about personal issues, I guess, but I really wanna ask for some opinions on this situation of mine.

Okay. I currently do not have any means at all to buy anything online so I normally ask my mother to get things for me, though I will stay pay for it. (I'll pay her). Ever since near the ending of August / Beginning of September, I've been trying to get her to check out a site called "WeLoveFine" to get me a few shirts on there and every single day I asked she says maybe and ends up not doing it, etc.. I'll accept that she might be too busy, and such, and do it on the weekend... But to say every single weekend of the month that your back is hurting or your too tired etc and never do it? And today, she was off work and even said she'll check it out for me today... She didn't because, and I quote, "My back is hurting.."... Seriously, it is always the same excuse and it is starting to annoy the hell outta me...

Would this count as laziness or am I over-reacting?

Also, because of this, I am planning to eventually get my own paypal this year cause this is becoming BS and annoying. Any ideas how to do it?

Women.

Need a bank account to verify it is you in order to increase your spending limit or to fund the account. unless you plan to load cash using some other means. Been too long since I opened a paypal account.

Laziness? Maybe. Procrastination? Definitely. Also, you probably can get a PayPal by going to their website and making an account and connecting your credit card to that account, maybe. I don't use it so I wouldn't know.

Without seeming insulting I'd like to point out that you need to take responsibility for yourself
(Sorry if that does sound insulting, it's supposed to be more like friendly advice)

Oh and if your mum really does have as bad of a back as that, she should get it checked out
To answer your question: Yes you're lazy. Laziness is a good thing every now and then, unless it gets you stuck in a pattern. (Which it sounds to me you could be, breaking out of this pattern would be by taking a step to becoming more independent.)

I'm not sure if you're asking if it's laziness on her part or your part?

Just register to make an account and fill in your card details on https://www.paypal.com/uk/uk/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_home and do it yourself?

Try checking the PayPal website, perhaps? Maybe, I don't know... Google it?

As for your problem, cut your mother some slack. First of all, you're dependant on her, and then you complain on the Internet (which I'm guessing she is paying for) about something that can wait anyway. They're some damn shirts, you won't die if you don't get them immediately.

1. How old are you?
2. How does looking at an internet site hurt her back?
3. Go to paypal.com, set up an account, attach a bank account with money in it, PROFIT. Well maybe not that last part. In fact it's likely to cost you money...

The lazy one is you. You are 18 (according to your profile). Go to a bank and make a checking account, get your own debt card and buy your own things.

If anything, I think it's your mothers way of saying "Do it yourself.".

Part of PayPal's terms of service is that users need to complete thirty Romanian deadlifts before logging in or else your account is drained of all money.

I have no idea how this could be misconstrued as being insulting. He should do it himself.

Society these days can be very fragile when you try to tell it what it doesn't want to hear. I basically just try to make sure I can't be held accountable for anyone's offence.

I purposefully avoided participating in that thread much because everyone (including myself) already has dead-set opinions on the matter.

But the way I see it, there's almost always value to be found in looking at the (more) objective side of things, regardless of how others may feel about it. Social obligations are complicating.

By the way, another option (if you have cash, but not any kind of credit card), is to go to the store and grab one of those prepaid Visa/Mastercard/AMEX cards.

Just a thought.

The only reason why I hadn't done so is cause Idk how and I never get the chance to do it. I am highly dependent on others for traveling because I cannot drive... And I live out in the middle of nowhere so the chances of me doing anything is extremely low..

And I am asking for help on the whole paypal thing because I want to do it. I hate being dependent on other people and I really want to start getting my life in track specially since this year is my last year of HS, and such... I mean, I'll still be dependent on other people for transport but I wanna make my own money, do my own shopping, etc... Also, if it is possible to get everything set-up online then I greatly will do that this month... Unless I do need some sort of amount of money to be in my bank account or something like that then I'll have to do it in person at the bank.

And believe me when I say this, I am not lazy when my mind is set on it.

Also, I finally did got her to AT LEAST check it out around 20 - 30 minutes ago so I am happy finally (Ticked her off by saying she is being lazy and such, always worked tbh)... And I wasn't upset cause of not getting shirts but because she always does this... Seriously, back when I was like 13 and big fan of RS.. I got enough money for RS membership for Christmas... Didn't got membership until May cause she just.. Wait that long, I guess.. And there was also the issue of a few lego sets I wanted when I was younger and took her like 3-4 months to finally let me get them with my own money... That is why I am really upset.

Yes, I am. My sister pushed me off of a tall object when I was like 1, or 2, and cracked my skull open. I normally blame that for all my brain issues.

Sympathies aside, that does make for a pretty convenient excuse to, well, anything.
