I'm currently a lvl 21 archer/thief. I find myself carrying 4 bows: one for each of the 3 elements and one to turn undead. Am I crazy? Or this not unusual?

It's your game so you can do what ever you want in it / with it. You dont have to come here and ask for forums blessing for carrying four bows.
