This is Ridiculous/FLICKERING SCREEN... SHADOWS....

Post » Tue Apr 20, 2010 7:42 am

How am I supposed to play this? I have Dual EVGA 480 GTX SC+ running in SLI. And I have a GTS 450 FTW EVGA dedicated PhysX card. I downloaded this game on steam because I want the best in graphics and to utilize my hardware.

There are 3 graphics options...three. There is NO DX11 support...to top it off...the game is unplayable.

The screen flickers and I have circle shadows going everywhere. I don't know how to explain it, but it is NOT RIGHT. LOL. I dropped 60 on this but I should have seen what it was. MULTI-PLATFORM.

My framerate is 60+ FPS, BUT HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO PLAY WITH THE SCREEN FLICKERING AND THE GRAPHICS ALL JACKED.

Windowed mode did not fix this for me either.

Please...if there is a fix. HELP ME!

Hi

to fix the flickering - here`s a quick fix - ATI Only

go to Catalyst control panel - performance - Gaming ( i think i am at work not on my pc nvidia card here)
Disable AI Catalyst (or something like that)

i bought the game today did not install yet but it worked on my leaked beta.

Say thanks if it works

Crytek is aware and trying to fix though.

That is very bad. I am complaining about the shadows popping in and out in the night levels. Maybe I should cool it after seeing that flickering.

I updated my Nvidia drivers to beta and it fixed it, however I had MAJOR heat problems. The drivers I was using were 267.24.

The temp of my top card is hovering at around 95C. While the other one never hits 75 or so.

this was NOT acceptable to me and I was worried about burning out my top card

I have SLI'd GTX 480s and a GTS 450 in the middle of the two. The top card only gets to about 80 in every other game.

I know the cards are rated for 105C but that is dangerously close at 95C. Is it safe to run at these temps? I mean, it has never been this hot before and I have really good airflow and my AC is on at 70F in my house. I use an Antec Dark Fleet 85 case, it is big, 3 intake fans in the front (120mm) 2 exhaust out on back (120mm), and 2 (140mm) exhaust fans on top of the case. I monitor my card temps on Logitech keyboard and EVGA Precision.

I don't want to burn out a card. lol. What makes the top card so hot is that it is a regular 480 GTX SC, and has no heatplate, as my bottom 480 SC+ has the backplate and it helps so tremendously keep the temps low. These cards look different but have the exact GPU in them so SLI works fine. Fans all at 100%.

I have the PhysX card (GTS 450) right in between the two and that of course causes the "sandwich effect" and temps have been higher. But no more than 80-83 at LOAD.

I have a corsair H70 running an I7 950 at 4.0Ghz
12GB 2000 Mhz Patriot ram (4x3)
Mobo: EVGA X58 FTW3

MY MAIN QUESTION IS: CAN I RUN THIS HOT? 90-95C on top card at LOAD?

Took middle physx card out. Load temps hovering now on top card ~80-85. They better patch this game. And im sure the drivers have something to do with this heat. Its pretty damn uncanny. Bottom card ~65.

Extreme 1080p

Great frames. As I progress through the game. It doesn't feel nearly as special as the first one. It feels generic kinda...not too engrossing. The cityscape is ok. But there still are a few bugs. AI is borderline terrible. I feel like im playing XBox. The reason I've been a PC gamer since 1992 was to avoid that. I only play Arcade/sports on consoles.

This feels...Halo'ish. Guns aren't really satisfying, neither are headshots. The magic of the first game is gone. I don't really care about Ailens in New York.

The suit seems dumbed down...not as special.
