This Save Game....

Post » Sun May 13, 2012 7:44 pm

Was created on a later version of Skyrim. Please download any updates.

So, in my house we have two Xbox 360s. And someone is hogging the Xbox 360 I was playing Skyrim on. So I moved my data to a different harddrive. The game ask for an update before I play and I said yes. So it updated. But I'm still getting an error when trying to load any of my characters.

"This save game was created on a later vsion of Skryim. Please download any updates."

Now, what do I do? It won't load on my other Xbox 360.

Wow aren't you being impatient with this post?

Anyway, try playing it on your other X-box where the save games were created. Alternatively have you tried rebooting your console yet?

Problem is the Xbox 360 is being used by someone else whom doesn't want to give up. And yes I'm being impatient because one it's around 1:53am and I do want to go to bed at some point in time, but I still wnat to play some Skyrim. I have rebooted my system several times.

edit-

Soop: This Xbox 360 in this room doesn't have Xbox Live because the internet gets confused with which Xbox and closes the ports for the Halo Player in the house.

Bumping this 4 times isn't going to get an answer, this doesn't seem to be a recurring issue for most and the best place to post this would be the technical subforum.

If the Xbox doesn't have Xbox Live it can't update the game, can it?
Which would explain your issue, I think,

Fairly certain you don't need Xbox live, thats the whole point of the site. Also why I said use a USB.

3 seconds to try anyway.

You should be able to download the patch if you have a connection to the internet. I can't tell from your post whether you have internet, but no gamertag/gold account, or no internet at all. If you have no internet, there will be no patch. Any access to the internet should give you an option to install the patch, per normal.

I don't have a live account nor do I have the internet hooked to this Xbox 360. Only the one downstairs.

Without internet access to that particular Xbox, connected to that particular hard drive, there is no way for the system to know you need the patch, let alone that your playing Skyrim at all. A possibility could be to ask whoever is using the other Xbox if you could plug your own harddrive into the internet-enabled Xbox for 5 minuets to download the patch. Once its saved on your harddrive, you can take it back off and down with you to the non-internet access Xbox.

Or, use the USB suggestion above.

My stupid Xbox 360 is saying the USB port doesn't have anything on it despite me putting the patch inside the USB. -.-

Omg.

I hate Halo and I hate Halo players.

Can you move the game install from your other HDD onto the USB then transfer that to the second HDD.

Halo/COD all the same.

Edit:
Format the USB.

The reason it can't read the USB is because your Xbox needs a (you guessed it) patch to read USB flash drives. Which you can't get, for the same reasons as my other post. Try asking to borrow the other Xbox like I suggested in the other post.

For your ease, since I know your frustrated, here is the suggestion I posted above:

Edit:
Format the USB.

It's configured to the Xbox 360. What I don't understand is why the USB isn't working. I use this USB to put music on my 360 when playing Fallout 3. So why does the Xbox 360 say nothing is on it when it comes to the patch? My god this is a nightmare.

Why did the Halo player have to hog the good Xbox 360, the slim with no problems. This old hunk of junk has a hard time opening the disc tray too.

edit-

Burns: Will there be a problem? They have a slim and I have the old arcade version Xbox 360, whom already suffered the death of red once before. But has been fixed up.

Yes you can.

Can download system updates from Microsoft.

If you've got a wireless connection, just screw the other player over and get the update. Stuff them.

I don't think you can install the USB patch with the USB drive itself.

You don't need the usb, just a CD/DVD
But if the OP has used it before, then clearly the USB drive works.
