Is this the texture glitch?

Hey everyone,

So I have been reading the forums a lot lately and noticed that there have been many texture issues, but I haven't really seen any pictures of what I have been experiencing. I am running off the disc on an xbox arcade system (about two years old) and everything looks fantastic except for the snow and shadows. It takes away from the game a little because it hurts my immersion experience. The shadows seem to flicker frequently and are very jagged. They look good from afar, but atrocious inside buildings. The shadows tend to flicker and are jagged and pixelated. It is very weird.

Also, the snow in some areas looks great in some areas and last-gen in others. High Hrothgar and the place with the golden claw (starts with a B) has some awful snow. It looks like it's floating just a little bit off of the rocks and painted on to walls and pillars. There seems to be no textures on the snow, but sometimes I see what maybe should be a texture if that makes sense. Inside the golden claw cave, there are patches of snow with little blue dots on them. I don't know what that is supposed to be, but it looks like maybe it should be shining or something? I have no idea...

I'm just wondering if I am experiencing these glitches everyone is up in arms about or if this is what the game was designed to look like.

Here are three pictures of what I'm talking about. For some reason the pictures I took of the shadows didn't come out. The shadows look the worst as they are moving so the photos didn't show exactly what I'm experiencing.

Not so much glitches, just badly done textures.
You're first shot (one on the left) is supposed to be like an indentation in the snow, like a crack.
Second (middle) is supposed to be bits of light, powdery snow clinging to the wall. If you've seen the aftermath of a blizzard, whichever direction the wind was blowing, you'll see fuzzy clumps like that.
Last one is the texture not placed correctly, that straight line is just the edge of the file, then it repeats.

All the weirdness you're talking about is Bethesda using low res textures, just without compressing or blurring the detail textures (snow on the wall) as much as the regular textures (the wall itself).

edit- typos lol

It may be part of it, but what most people are talking about is this:

Thanks. I'm not getting that chibi, it's really only the snow and shadows.

Kurodragoona,
It definitely seems low res. If you click on the picture and zoom in a little you can see how jagged and raw the snow looks. It looks worse in person, but you can still tell in the pics. The snow around that crack doesn't look like snow at all and it is very noticeable during play. It just looks like it is all pasted on there incorrectly or something. I was thinking it could be low res textures like you said, I just wanted to make sure. Thanks again.

I live in the northeast US and snowboard frequently so I see a fair amount of snow and this just looks very wrong for a game with so much snow in it. I absolutely love the game, but this just irritates me a little bit. The shadows are pretty bad too. I'll need to take a video when I get a chance.
