This is why I sometimes wish...

What would be the point of having multiple consoles if there were no exclusives? I see exclusives as the only point to owning a console, otherwise I'd just stick with my PC.

And hoping for the best only applies if you buy a console on or close to release day. No reason (besides impatience) one can't wait a year and then make a more informed decision.

PC is in the same boat. Console exclusives usually aren't released for the PC, either. You knew that. Misread your post. And on waiting: You can wait however long you like, there's always going to be more games coming that may be exclusive (Unless you buy an older-gen console.)

PS3 exclusives I'm definitely going to buy whenever they finally get here in the U.S.:

Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch
Final Fantasy Versus XIII

One I'm interested in if it ever finally sees a release date:

The Last Guardian

Something I really don't care much about but will pay attention to just because:

The Last of Us

edit: Why are the best exclusives taking so long to come around? :wallbash:

Yup, that's the mistake I made with the 360, since the PS3 exclusives didn't interest me in the beginning.

But a pain as they may be, exclusives are the biggest selling point for consoles. That drives console makers to fund quality games/devs in order to draw people to their console, and we get better games in return.

If that's deterring you from a PS3, it shouldn't... the 360 has a far worse track record in terms of faultiness. Of course, it could be out of principle, as well, and I won't discourage that.

Well the fact of the matter is I've had many problems with Sony and none with Microsoft. I've owned 4 Xboxes now (2 Originals and 2 360s) and I've never had a single problem with them. How things have gone for the majority doesn't matter whether that's true or not; Microsoft has never failed me while Sony has failed me time and time again.

I am worried that the Last of Us is going to look better than it actually will be, also feel the same about I Am Alive...
these are both 'wait for reviews/demos' games in my opinion
