Thoughts on what I've read and seen so far

Multiple powers are awesome. I hope more gets added by the time this game ships, I want to be surprised. Maybe an armoring ability, short burst of invisibility, or disguising as the enemy. I'd like to see the powers aspect of this get pushed as far as possible; more options mean more play-styles available, and thus more replay value.

Setting is pretty cool, the technology is interesting. I hope there will be a great deal of visual variety in the game's locations. I tend to get bored of looking at the same thing pretty fast because of visual reasons, and it stops me from enjoying things I otherwise would love.

I hope there will be even more strange crazy enemies aside from the archers with the metal leg devices. I would love to have some boss fights.
Please don't make Corvo a silent protagonist, or any other variation of boring protagonist with no personality beyond just "badass hero dude". It always seems to be the "bad guy" that has the interesting ideas and philosophies, or just more relatable intellectually, while the main character is a cliche avenger/hero, but I hope it will be different with Corvo.

I wish multiplayer online shooters had interesting unique settings, and gave players crazy powers like stopping time and possession. I'm sick of all these military "realistic" war FPS, its a waste of a medium with such artistic potential. If this game is successful, please make the sequel have a competitive multiplayer component, but something that stays true to the game's assassin style (like 5 players in a large area tactically tracking and hunting each other while also evading AI city guards). This would be really nice, but I guess its not a major concern at all, I'll have Dust 514 for an online shooter to play by then (PS3 exclusive free-to-play/download MMO FPS, connected into persistent scifi universe of EVE Online for realtime economic and military interactions cross-platform, form corporations, fight on thousands of planets each with many maps for their resources, lots of guns/armors/vehicles/customization modules)

I hope the plot will be complex and multilayered. Doesn't have to be Metal Gear Solid level (though that would be nice) but make it engaging please.

I totally agree with you on many things like

" I'd like to see the powers aspect of this get pushed as far as possible; more options mean more play-styles available, and thus more replay value."
----> I would like to add that I want some Stealth powers, some you already mentioned like freezing time (which it seems already there), or disguise as an enemy, or turning to mist (instead of invisibility which is getting kinda old), and maybe Mind Control that can distract guards or something.

and this

"Please don't make Corvo a silent protagonist, or any other variation of boring protagonist with no personality beyond just "badass hero dude"."
I remember playing Medal of Honor 2010 and the story was a blast to me, it was really good, but with the twists, events, and ending I thought a talking Protagonist with personality would have added alot to the story, it would have made a bigger emotional impact, I kinda get de-attached from FPS with Silent Protagonist.

I really hope the kind of platforming we saw in the trailer is actually in the game, and not just for show.

I really hope the kind of platforming we saw in the trailer is actually in the game, and not just for show.

In one of the developer interviews, Raphael and Harvey mentioned a QA tester was exploiting the use of certain powers to reach areas that the designers didn't intend for players to reach, such as jumping and then using the blink teleport power or possessing someone in order to survive a fall from a great height, etc.

My understanding is that instead of seeing that as a bug to be fixed or locking the player out of those areas, they kept it in and actually fleshed out those areas a bit to reward players who think outside the box.

That's pretty interesting, thanks for the info. How do you select where to go with teleportation? just aim and activate? and how much range?

I think it's fairly clear that the 'teleport' ability is called 'blink', and it works just like 'blink' does in other games. Namely, you instantly 'teleport' forward, however far it is - 10 meters, 20 meters, who knows. My guess is that you'll just instantly surge forward in whichever direction you're facing.

Also in terms of disguising as an enemy - you can possess people. In one of the interviews the two developers talk about how when you possess someone you actually physically disappear inside of their body, and then (I would think) reappear next to your possession target whenever you leave his body. One example of this they gave is how a tester jumped off a roof and before he hit the ground he possessed a guard, therefore saving himself from the fall because he literally goes inside the guard's body. Then, using his new body he actually walks through a check point. So in some ways that's a 'disguise'. Apparently you can also possess rats which are useful for scouting because they can run along, through rat holes and stuff. I'm sure there will be other cool things to possess too.

I do hope they will consider a different design for those bow wielding soldiers with the mechanical legs. They look silly IMO

I find them pretty legit. I'm really expecting something original compared to these copypasta RPG.

I don't know if you played Rise Of Legends, but I'm expecting kinda the same. Also, I'm an archer for 15 years now and I like the idea of these bow soldiers.

Well tactically speaking, and since Dishonored is also about stealth, a power that lets you obscure light sources would be terrific. (I sadly don't remember if they already have such power so sorry if I spoke in vain.)
Also Corvo can posses animals, like rats, so it would be amazing if he coudl posses the animal form which he takes his name: crow/raven.

I hope you can scavenge the bows and arrows of the tallboys. I want the incendiary arrows, but I don't see why I need to be possessing their bodies to use it.
I hope we get to see more strange technology weapons in Corvo's arsenal.

I think it would be awesome to clone yourself for a short period of time. You could leave one on auto-pilot, or you could switch back and forth manually, or you can give specific commands to your clone to do something like act as a booby trap for guards by telling him to wait out in the open, or many other things.

Corvo will most likely not be silent, but will speak more through actions than words. There is no multiplayer. I expect the plot to be quite complex.

Like said, you just Blink forward, but it has also been mentioned that you can teleport to a specific place by aiming at it with a spyglass.

The Tallboys are there to stay. And for good reason

For all we know so far, you can blow out flame-based lights with a windblast, and destroy electric lights

I want the opposite of this. I want for them to be restrained. I don't want another Prototype.

Well, yeah, but I mean that in Prototype you can do so many things with your mutation, regardless of whether it really makes sense. I like the fact that they're sticking to setting-appropriate abilities. (I was actually a bit surprised they introduced fire and ice powers, and I'm not totally sure I'm happy about it. Hopefully it doesn't spoil the atmosphere the game's going for.)

Same feeling here. Feels to much like any other cookie-cutter fantasy game. Hopefully they will impliment it well, and not make it OP.

I want the "boss fights" to be eliminating your targets and no giant steampunk robots which you can just shoot down. Deus Ex had good boss fights, let Dishonored have good ones as well.

Yes, I'm tired of cliche boss fights that just involve you hitting the boss over and over again. Although, I heard that Deus Ex (HR) had horrible outsourced boss fights.

Deus Ex had good boss fights just because you didn't even need to fight them and they were people you got to know through the whole game so facing them really meant something.
On the other hand Deus Ex: Human Revolution had some of the worst boss fights I have ever seen. Not only were bosses going against Deus Ex core gameplay by not being defeatable in multiple ways but they lacked the background story for them to really matter.
I would prefer if this game went the more realistic route and have bosses like they were done in e.g. Hitman - you can shoot 'em with one bullet if you are a good shot just like any other NPC

Yeah but the starting pistol did that anyway, so that's not really the problem.
