Through Your Eyes

I saw a mod on a video, about having your character first person view through the characters eyes and not body level. I thought it was pretty interesting. And would actually kind of like the game in a real first person view.

What are your thoughts?

I kind of like it. It's pretty weird to get use to. But I do agree with his comment it adds suspense in suspenseful situations. Imagine going though ancient crypts, etc.

I tried it out a while back. Too buggy and unstable to be worth using at the time, but if they ever get it sorted out it will be one of my favorites.

I really think it needs to become something like what Horse Armor was to Oblivion. I would love an updated version, like he said, like the FPSs.

Me too,I won't pay anything expensive for it. It would just add some really great moments.

Like in the DLC
Spoiler
when gargoyles spring from walls or statues
it would make my gameplays ten times more immersive and suspenseful.

I saw that mod on a video once. I hated the way it looked. True first person view isn't needed for this game to me. Just doesn't make sense. If this was Daggerfall and maybe Morrowind, it'd make perfect sense. It isn't. The game series has evolved into a series with a first person view that isn't a true first person view. I like that kind of view, as well. It's much more sensible for a game where you have ten different races to choose from to have a less than true first person view.

Many of the mods made before the CK was out are very interesting, but I just don' like many of them. I still want to try out the swearing Mudcrab together with the posh mudcrab. Now that is pure amazing to me. Granted, I use the Get Over Here! spell mod to torture everyone painlessly. My Blind Swordsman won't be using that spell, but I plan to return Gutslit... He was too awesome to die of mod messing up save.

Now a Wolfenstein style first person view would be a cool mod to make. I wonder if the original Doom can be converted into being the gun using version of Battlespire... Hm... That must be done! I got so many mods I want to make. Making beds something you can sleep on even if they are owned is on the list, making an awesome dungeon for Morrowind(it might be part of that lusty Argonian maid quest or Lion King inspired quest... Never know!), and now finding out if Doom emulated on DOSbox will let me use the map making tool.

Man... Watching The Boondocks and going to this forum at the same time makes me happier... Weird.

This is definitely a very interesting concept. The curent version of the mod is really unstable and shaky though, which I hope will be improved in the future. I'm actually kinda dissapointed with the first person view in the game. Your sight doesn't bounce or move realistically as you walk around, you're not even viewing the same thing as your character. No matter whether you're a bosmer or an altmer, you will always be the same height in the first person view. It feels more like you're a steady floating camera than anything, which truly is a shame as it removes some of my immersion.

This is something I hope they will implement later in TES games. A lot of games already have improved first person views that enhances the immersion and makes the experience a whole lot better. The problem with Skyrim's first person is that it's too perfect. You are a camera, not a living person, and it's bloody obvious.

Interesting all right, but i don't really like the "realism over comfort" kind of mods. It seems like the view jerks too much anyway, almost like there's an earthquake going on. though as i have not worn armor or wielded weapons in real life before, i have no idea how unstable your view would become.
