Tiber Septim Dreamstride

Post » Sun Aug 05, 2012 9:58 pm

After finishing the Walking Nightmare quest in Dawnstar,
Spoiler
I think it would be cool to a use a Vaermina's Torpor potion to briefly play as Tiber Septim and see exactly how he evolved to Talos.
Obviously this would be a backstory but could be pretty epic seeing as how much of the MQ in Skyrim revolves around what he accomplished during the Third Era. Maybe even expand on why he appeared as Wulf in Morrowind.

Yup revisit Tiber Septims life, and see him acting like a huge [censored]. Sounds fun.

You don't need to play as Tiber Septim to learn how he became Talos. Just learn the history of the story. If you're interested, head to the lore board and ask around. They're smart in there.

He did a lot during both. But yeah, the stuff in skyrim was after he was a boy (I've forgotten his Atmoran childhood name), but while he was still Talos Stormcrown, before he became Emperor and Tiber Septim (which was, of course, the first event of the third era).

The Dreamstride in general fascinates me. Vaermina hasn't really had a tremendous amount of lore given in the past, so that quest was a nice tidbit on an otherwise inscrutable daedra. If it does stand to return in later games/DLC, it could serve as a fantastic storytelling device; Without taking control out of the player's hands entirely, it lets a story be told richly in the first person, sort of like a railroaded interactive movie game but without the annoying fluff that pretends to be an actual game.

You might want to have this moved to the spoiler/help forum. There's probably some people that haven't done the Waking Nightmare quest.

I would love to do that, especially the parts with Barenziah.

We should use the Torpor to reenact scenes from The Lusty Argonian Maid. :hubbahubba:

Let's hope it's based on a true story...

I agree. I'm surprised Bethesda hasn't already incorporated this, unless they are including this in an upcoming expansion. Reading the various books in game is cool, but some stories could be interesting actually seeing portions of them played out, especially being able to play as whatever character the story is based around.

Good point. I edited my 1st post with spoiler tags.

It wouldn't be too much of a stretch since he basically did the same thing and visited the same places your Dragonborn character experiences. And since Talos is indirectly involved in the White Gold Concordat, it wouldn't be too hard to make a playable backstory or quest out of that. Plus it would be cool to see how Bethesda would tell the story, other than reading about it.

Lol, I wouldn't mind seeing that play that out either.

Haha!

Let's just hope that particular Argonian was hot so we don't drink the dream juice and get stuck in the dream being forced to do ten different kinds of nasty to an ugly lizard woman! lol

Lol, if they draw her right, Lifts-Her-Tail may fit the part quite right! If Bioware can make Asari look good, no reason why Beth can't cook up some hot lizard chic (sick I know), lol!

Aha, is there really an Argonian named Lifts-Her-Tail?! I don't think I've come across her yet, where is she? This is hilarious.

She's a character in that book, or rather play script 'The Lusty Argonian Maid'.

Here's a quote from Vol. 1 of the book...

"Crantius Colto: Cleaning, eh? I have something for you. Here. Polish my spear.

Lifts-Her-Tail: But it is huge! It could take me all night"

This would be a cool idea but how to actually implement it story-wise? Without bending the lore and conveniently changing things just so it makes sense...
