Is a TIGA Diploma legit?

Hello!

A little while ago I lost my job for a stupid reason, which I won't go into cause this isn't about getting sympathy (I'll make another thread for that)!

Anyway, since I am quite creative and also an actor, I was thinking about a career in the video games industry, when I came across this. Now, I have had a meeting with one of this company's sales people before and I wasn't too sure, as I couldn't afford the course, but now I'm at a point where I just want to jump in!

To any of you Games Developers out there (or anyone that knows about the industry) is the TIGA Diploma legitimate? If so, is it actually recognised within the industry AND is it worth paying £35 ($54) per week to take it?

Obviously, like almost EVERYONE out there, I really don't want to get ripped off

I had them phone me once a couple of years ago, but couldn't afford it at the time.

I've read horror stories AS WELL as good stories on the internet though, which is why I've bought the question here :)
And mainly cause I'm desperate to actually do SOMETHING whilst unemployed :P
