I'm having trouble completing the "In Time of Need" quest in Whiterun. I chose to help Saadie, and she asked me to go talk to a Redguard in the prison to learn where the leader of the mercenaries trying to capture her is. I go to the prison and talk to the Redguard guy, He asks me to pay his fine, so he can tell me where his leader is. He tells me to talk to one of the guards to pay his fine (100 gold), but when I do so they just say "Hey... I know you" and don't give me any other kind of speech option or anything.

I saw a YouTube video of the quest and in it he guy talks to the guard and he has the option to pay the fine. Anyone have any idea on how to fix this?

I found the solution, What I did was commit another crime, yield to a guard and choose the option to "Pay the fine". That seemed to reset the guards' speech and they wouldn't just say "Wait!.... I know you" anymore when I came into their range. I talked to the guard nearby and the option appeared to pay the prisoner's fine. Finally got to get that quest done!

On the other hand the NPC I had to kill was pretty tough and surrounded by like 5 dudes. Not to mention I found, two giants, a sabre and a mammoth while traveling which were really tough for my level! Run! Run! Run!
