Time to sell...

I just hit around 9MB with my save and It was going ok, usual frame drops but everything worked until I killed a dragon and then couldn't absorb the soul...
I stopped playing for a bit and instead had a go at Assassins Creed Revelations, but that bored me to death after Skyrim so I went back to see if I could do something about it.
I made the character menu save less frequent and unchecked save on rest, next thing I did was go and sell my sht from my chest in Whiterun - it pains me to do it as I'm a massive hoarder but I had hundreds of things in there - I've sold a small portion of it and my save has gone down almost 1MB already.

One of the save issues is the game is trying to keep track of so much at once, items you touch, drop, store, carry etc - dropping a sword you don't want causes extra strain, discovering a cave for the game to remember, extra strain. Now, we can't prevent seeing more except for just not playing but we can prevent the game having to strain remembering loot by just selling your stuff, then it seems to just disappear from the game world. It's helping a little for now - it's not a perfect fix as soon other things will outweigh it but it might hold some people over until the patch we're all praying for.

Aye, I'm only selling all the 'display' items I had - I'm keeping any Daedric artifacts or unique items but selling all my old enchanted armour, unneeded ores and ingots and jewelry etc etc.
I'm using a 320GB slim, it's about 4-5 months old after my launch 60GB clapped out.

Basically the game is punishing you for playing it.

Again, Oblivion handled all my hoarding without a problem, and I had built up a much larger hoard than my current Skyrim stash. Selling everything may help (temporarily), but this really shouldn't be an issue in the first place.

What gets me is not even one response from Bethesda acknowledging the issue..

Yeah same here, my Oblivion save on the PS3 is half the size with around 3 times the playtime and a Skingrad house FILLED to the brim with crap. It seems to be helping a little at the moment, but what you can't just 'erase' from the world will eventually overwhelm the junk you can sell and disenchant... I want a patch soon.

Yeah it really pisses me off too, I've tweeted Pete and contacted tech support but got nothing - just going on this board makes it clear enough there's a MASSIVE problem and several games websites such as Kotaku have even reported on it...
