Wahey, so either they lied about the details of their exclusivity contract to us or they sold out to Microsoft for more cash. GG.

I own both because I'm primarily a console gamer, but I also have a really good PC for my wife and kids' schoolwork, so I upgraded some parts and bought a copy for the PC as well.

As far as the exclusivity deals, that's just the nature of the industry now. Thank Al Gore's internet for that one. lol

And for this particular instance, people did a lot[ of "reading between the lines" on the exclusivity contract. Forum knowledge is that it's "just any two random DLC's and the exclusivity is done". We don't know, there may have been a file size requirement in the contract that detailed what was a "qualifying" DLC size in order for the exclusivity to end.

Point is, if Dragonborn is a 360 exclusive then obviously Hearthfire didn't count, and it's probably because HF is so small that it doesn't count towards the contractual exclusivity. And it's not lying to us if they don't disclose all the pertinent information on a lucrative contract like that. They aren't beholden to give us all the details of their contracts, and this could have been a clause that was held back from public info.

But really, no one on the Forums will know for sure until we see how Dragonborn's release goes.

The main problem I have with this: HF did count as in I had to wait 30 days on PC for it . :/

But there is the possibility that there's a difference between what counts for us, and what counts for the contract to be fulfilled. It is possible for those to be two different target numbers.

Luckly I am on PS 3 so this don't concern me at all because I will not get DLC anyway,
Bethesda never said how big is exclusity, so maybe it's four DLC not two, or ,maybe it's about size but then Microsoft would be kind off assholish , hearthfire got exclusity, then they apear and say no, no this didn't count one more DLC!

Wow! I think even the hardest 360 fan would have to feel sorry for PS3 users right now. Let's just hope this means it is a timed exclusive and not the same farce they are going through with the previous DLC's.
Beth really need to sort this mess out and think about treating all fans as equal instead of bowing to M$.

This is exactly the kind of behaviour that drives people to piracy. Either as an excuse or as a matter of principle. I've already seen many comments around the web akin to "Well, if they want that MS money so much, they can live without mine". Good job Bethesda. It's not like your entire [censored] franchise and it's success was built on PC users, right?

I gotta say even tho Microsoft looks like the bad guys to ps3 users you got to give them props they have really stepped up lately not just with the contract with Beth but to the console to with the new stuff they added...but what I'm trynna say is their not just keeping their customers happy by make in moves like this but if they keep doing things like this they will have new customers sooner than later which means more money for them .. : / ( just my opinion )

I agree, this assholish and backhanded treatment of PC and ps3 users does make piracy seem like a viable option. Not as an option to get [censored] for free on that bases solely but more along the lines of getting content and throwing that middle finger BACK at Bethesda for their treatment towards fans on other than 360 users.

Im not gonna pirate it, but damn its looking like a very viable option towards giving Bethesda the middle finger. To bad those crafty updates will hamper the piraters though. I guess ill just wait til its on sale on steam that way they getting chump change from me instead of full price.


Seriously is there really anyway to let Bethesda know we HATE this practice they are doing and the silent treatment they giving the fans to really make them pay attention? Because right now piracy seems to be the only viable option but I dont want to go down that road though.

I'm pretty sure Beth just doesn't want to look bad again by announcing X360 and PC release dates and keeping up the PS3 fiasco and having to say "Err, about the PS3, we really don't know...".
So since people are used to see Xbox release date, they stay vague on whether it's a time exclusive or not, and hope everything will be fine when the 4th comes, so they can be all "Surprise ! Release for everyone !"
And if it doesn't work, they stay vague until the mess is fixed on PS3, and release PS3/PC version and they're all "Surprise ! It's now released for everyone !"

I'm really surprised they are still doing this with TES MMO on the horizon. TES MMO will need all the help it can get as it has to compete with other big MMO's and you don't win support for something by alienating half of your customers just as sales for Dishonoured showed.

Actually its a sad day when the [censored]ing company dosent have the balls to straight out tell its customers its is exclusive and we have to find out from a [censored] magazine.

And ya I didnt buy dishonor. Looks like a great game but their treatment has pretty much shunned me away from games they putting out. Basically waiting for it to go sale. To bad their treatment of their customers have been this way, hell if they didnt pull this [censored] they been doing I woulda still been the person who bought anything with a Bethesda logo on day 1.
