Tips for leveling up in Helgen using Ralof Hadvar as a pract

Post » Thu Jun 07, 2012 4:37 am

I have already gotten my sneak skill to 100, one handed and two handed to 75, destruction to 35, and block to 25. Also archery to 25.

Is there any special tips for increasing skills further than this?

I heard that choosing the shield bash perk makes it possible to level up your block skill very quickly by bashing these NPC's over and over.

Are there anymore examples like this?

I would like to emerge from Helgen at the highest possible level.

It is your game , but why would you do that you throwing away 75% of the fun by powergaming a character like that ; but like i said it is your game don't come crying when you meet your first deathlord or your firdt ancient dragon and the only thing you have is a iron sword
there is abandit hideout /mine not far from riverwood , you ve been there ??

Yeah. I've been there.

Easily avoided on the path from Helgen to Riverwood, where I can chop wood and purchase allot more than an iron sword.

Not to mention, picking up plenty of good gear after my first few looting expeditions.

The whole point of me setting this goal was to create a good challenge for myself.

Also, you are right. It IS my game. You play your way, and I will play mine. I asked for tips. Not criticism.

Besides, I am not ruining the fun. The best I will do is achieve around level 30 by the time I exit Helgen.

Have you been to Riverwood? You would know that there is a companion named Faendal there whose level is LOCKED to the main character's level the moment you enter the cell.

His level cap is 30. It makes sense to do what I am doing.

Never played WOW before in my life. I am 30 years old born September 21, 1981.

I have been playing since Morrowind, and spent 4 years playing Oblivion using the same character.

Idiot.

I've done that several times, it's never ruined my game. After plunking away over 1,000 hours into this game, I feel entitled to cheat every now and again. To some people working your way up to the top over and over is fun, to some of us, starting out with a character who's not a feeble old lady is fun too.

Bleakwail, I've never gone as far as you've mentioned. I've only boosted sneaking on the starter sponge NPCs.

Thank you.

I have done it several times too, but this time, I wanted to see if I could reach level 30 before exiting Helgen cave / keep so that Faendal would be locked at his cap.

I never liked the idea of having to Wabbajack my follower to get them capped.

I am only concerned with getting to level 46 as soon as I can, so that all quest rewards and leveled items will be at their cap.

I am a collector, and have always gotten the most fun out of my Beth games trying to collect 2 of every piece of equipment / item / clothing in the game. At their maximum strength.

From level 46 to 81, I plan to level up without any exploits or glitching whatsoever.

guy asks why you would want to do something (after very honestly admitting it's your game, twice) and you go all jerkzilla on his ass? not nice mate.

that being said you can bash ralof/hadvar with your shield (without the perk works fine, just not as fast me-thinks) and it will advance your block, I always make sure to give them a few wackes along the way to get it up a couple levels, and I don't know if it would work, but have you tried bashing with a bow?

Did you read the part where he said "don't come crying when you have nothing but an iron sword against an ancient dragon"?

I don't need anyone to tell me whose game I am playing.

The guy is a jerk.

he raised a very good point, and maybe you should try reading things with a pinch of humor, I find it leads to a lot less miss-understandings, and a lot more informative discussion.

also, you are a jerk (works both ways mate)

have you thought about nipping out to get some spells? like ones for different magic trees (illusion comes to mind), that way you can level some of your magic skills to boost your level, and as long as you don't enter a cell with a leveled item or level locked companion you should be fine, it might be worth noting what areas you can and can't visit until you reach a higher level, maybe even make a color-coded map, that way you can get out and do some things that not only aid in your leveling process but also let you experience the gameplay.

IMO gameplay is more fun at max level, you stop needing to worry about your skills and stuff and you are completely aware of your abilities and how far they extend, and I can completely understand why you would want things to be max scale for your collection, I used to be like that, but then I realized that they only unique items I cared about were targe of the blooded and the fiery soul trap enchanted axe.

Far too much flaming in this. If you are not able to discuss a topic with civility you get it closed.
