Toggle HUD or Crosshair

Post » Wed May 09, 2012 12:44 am

I know about the http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Oblivion:Console#Toggle_Commands.

I was wondering if anyone ever wrote a mod to toggle the HUD and crosshair off for screenshots, that it could be bound to a key press, rather that the clunky console?

And did anyone ever make crosshairs that fit the look of the game? I'd like to find a dot that had the same design aspect and coloring of the original t.

http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=39435 would be such a mod. It comes with configurable keys.

If you like an immersive crosshair (a simple, barely noticeable dot) like you see http://img269.imageshack.us/img269/8834/62706137.jpg, I can borrow you mine.

I would like it if you could "lend" me your crosshair too ;) And your updated "Glory of Cyrodiil" video replacer you had created for your overhaul :)

Here`s a http://www.filedropper.com/immersivecrosshair to the crosshair. I won`t release the video replacer though, at least for now. Getting rid of the "Evolution" means I have to render and compress everything again. At the moment I have more important things on my mind.

Seems the current HUD toggling mod does more than it should, wiping out the entire HUD and menu system when active. Oh, well. I'll just use the console command.

As far as crosshairs go, I still need to see it. If you cut the bars off the vanilla crosshair, leaving the circle and little needle inside, you'd have the perfect crosshair for the game. Once you get into all manner of colors and drop the transparency, nothing else will really fit. I wish I knew how to edit the darn thing. The vanilla crosshair is too big for PC gaming. There's a mod that shrinks it, but it also throws your aim out the window, too.

Like I said, chop off the arms and you'd have the ideal crosshair.

I use my Logitech G15 G keys macros to press ², type TM, press enter and press ² again. With a 80ms delay during keypress. Any other macro program could probably do the same.

Not sure if this helps, but it's one approach...

Yeah, I could do that with my G400.

Thanks.

The mod does exactly what the console command does.

OK, I tried something like that, but can't get the tilde key to register in-game, short of pressing it myself on the keyboard. If I press the tilde, the macro will simulate t,m, and Enter for me, then I have to press tilde again. I've tried recording a regular press of the tilde key and SHIFT+tilde, but neither works. The rest of the macro works fine without any delays, or with delays (just slower).

When you say to "press ²," what do you mean? Is there something I can record other than tilde to do the same thing?

Since I have a G400, I assume I'm using the same Logitech Gaming Software as you.

Did you read my post above ? What the "Menu and Camera Toggler" actually does is activate the console command, so the result is exactly the same. If you type in your console command or use the mod, either way you will lose your HUD and menus. So it doesn`t make any sense to make a macro.

Use http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=12556, it lets you set three hotkeys. One disables the HUD. One activates the Flying Camera, and the third disables the HUD and activates the Flying Camera. Personally I map them to "Delete", "End" and "Page Down" respectively, since they aren't used for anything and are nicely set up for a three button group.

No, I get it. But I realize there are a couple other console commands I'd like to create macros for: toggle grass (to find fallen weapons or arrows) and toggle clipping (to find items that fell through the floor or various environment textures).

What I can't seem to get is how to make the Logitech macro software simulate a press of the tilde key.
