A Tonsil Conundrum

Post » Tue May 15, 2012 6:54 am

Greetings, forumites! I've been trying to figure something out and I'm at a loss as to what I'm dealing with. My left tonsil has developed a sort of...indentation, roughly in the middle, so that it looks like a deep sort of crater separates the upper and lower halves of the left palatine tonsil. I've tried googling, but I haven't been able to find trustworthy information on what this particular thing could be. I have never in my life expelled any sort of Tonsillolith, nor do I have any symptoms indicative of tonsillitis, or any symptoms at all beyond this newly acquired deformity to my left tonsil.

Well, scratch that, There's a canker sore right next to my left tonsil. The pain from the canker sore is what caused me to notice the change in the tonsil's shape.

Anyway, does anyone have any idea what this could be? Preferably with links?

Also, before you ask:

Yes, I am going to a doctor about this. I'm due for a physical anyway.

No, I cannot provide pictures at this time. Please try again later.

I'd say go to your doctor and get it checked out. You could wait 'till your physical or go and schedule an appointment with an oral surgeon.

See if you dig at it with a knife like I would usually suggest, it would most likely lead to you having to do what you should be doing in the first place: See a doctor.

Do we look like doctors? Seriously, do we? Cause, last I checked. I wasn't a doctor. However, in the chances I've somehow become one in the last five minutes. My consultation is $300 a session. Get out yer checkbook.

Do you really want to get medical advice from a forum where people ask both about the Puzzle Box and how to ask a girl out on a date?

Please, see your doctor about this issue. Small things are easily treatable, if caught early. If this is something to worry about.

I will close this so we don't get any lawsuit material posted here.
