Too anyone having lag problems on ps3

Post » Mon May 14, 2012 4:13 am

I have been playing for about 15 hours and had about 7 save files just because I wanted to be able to go back if I missed something. These files were about 4.5 gigs each. They made my game lag like crazy, So I deleted all the files except the 2 I need and no more lagging.

If anyone is having trouble with their ps3 lagging try doing this if you can and see if it helps. It was night and day for me!

Good find! haven't had problems yet. But I figure I would bump this to help anyone out.

Not yet, I've been keeping it down to 2 saves though. I've only lagged during the beginning when you're called up.

Good call. I have like 5 and I lag a bit in Whiterun. It's not bad at all but slightly annoying. Thanks for the tip.

I only have 1 save, and I've only lagged bad when I've had the PS3 on for most of the day.

4.5 gigs per save? What the hell's up with that?

I have 22 saves on PC that total 100mb all together. lol

And I've never seen any other PS3 game create save files that large. That's ridiculous.

Sounds like Bethesda screwed the pooch royally somewhere.

These files were about 4.5 gigs each.

Holy [censored]! I have a game at almost 13 hours on the PC and it's 4.33MB. Are you sure it wasn't MB?

Totally confirmed, my save files sure as hell weren't 5.5 gb but they were 6-7 mbs each, i deleted all but my 5 most recent then deleted about 10 gigs of game data from my hard drive started up and was able to walk through solitude with out lag, and the weird audio bug that sounded like crackling fire disappeared. Now you can attribute this to the hard drive, the saves, or the restart. But I would start here and use the other 2 in case this doesnt work.

Mine just started to do it a bit, but I have about 20 saved games. I like to have lots of options if their is a quest glitch or something. I will have to delete most if it gets bad, to see if it will fix it.

I'm getting this on my old, big 40gb PS3. The first 8 hours were flawless and over the last 6 - 8 hours I get massive FPS drops just walking through the wilderness. One time I was using my Whirlwind Sprint and halfway through the dash my screen went blank and the XMB pops up like the game just suddenly quit. I restarted the game and everything ran fine for about an hour or so and then the FPS drops started back up. Whiterun is awful for me all the time.
