Too easy so far

Post » Wed May 09, 2012 6:22 pm

To be fair I haven't finished the main story but 15 hours in now at the highest difficulty and not even a single death other than to a damned waterfall, lol.

Oblivion and morriwind above +75 was challenging, where'd that go?

Am I correct in assuming that the difficulty was designed around the inferior controls provided by a controller? Given everything else I've seen so far I wouldn't be surprised.

This game is still amazing though, the level of polish and freedom is immense - cant deny that even if I wanted to. :)

I don't see where you are coming from unless you are using shouts a lot, shouts make every fight easy, I'm on second to hardest at the moment and i get 1-3 shotted by lots of things.

15 hours at Master Difficulty and you haven't died in combat once? I find that hard to believe.

You must be a god at games, at one difficulty lower than default I've died a fair few times. Especially to those damn frost trolls!!!

I am ,why wouldn't I? They are available. Sure I can get oneshotted, but that doesn't make it challenging, just a bit silly. The monsters do a poor job of catching me off guard and as a result I can often kite around a throng of monsters that could have oneshotted me but ant ever hit me...

Well to be fair I am a former progamer, but that shouldn't really matter. Lots of modern games are still very challenging to me, like the Witcher 2 and Starcraft 2 or dragon age, to name a few recent ones. Obviously all on the highest difficulty.

I'll agree with that, battles are usually win or lose, no tactics involved. I liked level-scaling better, still loving the game though.

I didn't. I just think the ai is bad. I can't say I'm altogether surprised but I think oblivions enemy ai was harder to handle. I'd just like for them to fight me better, don't care about the oneshotting though of course with better ai their damage should be toned down a bit. Btw someone mentioned frost trolls... Fireball, unrelenting force, fireball, run a bit, rinse, repeat till dead.

I have definitely died a few times now. Most recently to three Bounty Hunters who ganged me. It was not a very impressive bout. :(

Not even sure what difficulty I am on haha.

Haha :D
I think actually the hardest fight I've had so far were 4 necromancers and their minions and on top of that my horse which I had accidentally hit with lightning lol

But even that was kinda trivial.

Oh well, let's bet on the modders again, they created some excellent maschism in oblivion to be sure!
Or maybe I'm too early. Maybe it gets much harder, who knows?

7, 6 at the time of that event.

I think I forgot to mention they were novice necromancers.

But seriously them having tons of hp doesn't make them dangerous, it just means they take long to kill.

In Word of Warcraft you have people soloing almost current 25-man content by simply fooling the terrible AI or taking severe advantage of design flaws. Skyrim has those too, for example any variant of flames is cheap because you can stick fire to them and cancel spell immediately, wait for 2 seconds and fire again.

I don't have anything to prove it but I don't care to either. I didn't post this for attention, I was just reaching out to see if others felt the same way. Seems not. :/

I'm using the default (Adept I believe) difficulty and I died twice on the Bleak Falls Barrow boss and three times on the first Dragon I fought.

No, I've realized they run fast and thus I can't kite kill them. Now they are difficult but I am not forced to fight them, so they dont make the game any harder. :P I'm a coward, I know.

Maybe if I stack up some scrolls and potions. ;o

I died at 1st level. Nightime fight against a Bandit chief and the group that surrounded me.

I am still getting adjusted to the lack of movement during combat. And the horrible UI, hotkeys/favs system.

My single biggest gripe with Skyrim. Every single encounter seems to either be:

1. Easy. Just hack them with my sword a couple times and they go down.

2. Too difficult. It takes a lot of hits to take them down, yet they can kill me in 2-3 hits.

I'm a khajiit who specializes in destruction, restoration, alteration, sneak, and conjuration. And if there was hand to hand I'd be all over that too because the claws are insane. Highest difficulty and I need like 15 hits on a dragon to kill it. If it breathes at me I just turn around and use the whirlwind sprint and equip healing in both hands and use my magicka to heal behind a rock or something. And if it starts flying around I shoot lightning at it.

The OP has to be lying. I've left the difficulty where it is at the start, and I've died a quite a few times.

Same, i like it so far because some enemy's are cake and go down easy but some are too much to handle at lower levels. The frost troll i encountered game me fits.

Seems a lot of people thin I lie because they went melee and got mauled by the troll towards throat of the world...
I'm playing on master, really!

Oh well, back to the game.
I wish I had a big secondary hdd so I could record this but all I got is a 128gb ssd t.t load times are nice btw :D

Ahahah shouted into midair in a town and now the guards are saying I make the townspeople nervous, this game is legendary.
