Too optimistic gambling on finding full daedric armor?

Post » Wed Nov 14, 2012 12:18 pm

I found daedric gauntlets and a daedric helmet, aswell as a dragonbone helmet and dragonbone boots (If I recall right) from chests on my old main character.

Can they be found in the gameworld? (As in places they appear nomatter what) other than chests? Is it too unreliable too gamble on finding a full set even after playing alot?

I want the daedric armor but only for the looks. I dont want to spend perks and leveling up smithing just because of 4 items. Seems like a huge waste but Im not sure if there is a better option?

Their appearance is always based on your level, I think. I don't think one single character of mine is high-leveled enough to have even seen a piece of Daedric Armor.

But, they've been through the whole map, and there have been no hand-placed pieces of Daedric armor on sight. You should look up Skyrim:Daedric armor or somesuch from UESPWiki to get clarification, though.

edit: Okay, okay, I checked it up... From UESPWiki: "Daedric Armor is the best heavy armor in the game. It appears in leveled lists starting at level 48 (enchanted varieties at level 49). However, even after level 48, Daedric armor is twenty times less likely to appear than other armor types." So, you'll likely not be lucky enough in quite some time. :P

Neither Drgaonbone nor Daedric can be found on fixed locations, they only appear in high level random loot. And i've never gotten more than two pieces of either with single character

You want it, you have make it yourself, unless you get ridiculously lucky :hehe:

they only appear in high level random loot.

Starting at level 48, 49 for enchanted Daedric, according to UESP. And even then Daedric is 20 times less likely to appear than other types. So... yeah. IMO you'd have to be extremely lucky to find a full set on one character. I've had four, maybe five characters get high enough to start finding it and even then I could probably count the found pieces on the fingers of one hand with fingers left over. If I wanted a full set to wear or give to a follower, I had to make it.

Either get 90 in Smithing so you can get the Daedric Smithing perk, or get 90 in Conjuration so you can get a Sigil Stone to strengthen the link that the Atronach Forge has with Oblivion. Those are both probably far more reliable methods of getting daedric stuff than the roll of the dice.

If you have Dawnguard, Legendary and Revered Dragons have a very high chance at holding a Daedric Item. I've found many, supremely enchanted as well.

I've heard Legendary can even carry dragonplate/dragonscale and Dragonbone weapons, I've never seen it myself. (Only killed 2 though)

Daedric armor is too creepy for my tastes anyway. I like my characters to look moderately scary, but not like something out of a serial killer's nightmare.
