A.I.

if we really have as many choices to go through our mission as the Game informer article says, will the AI react accordingly? (if you teleport into a guards body, will you be able to move through unnoticed, or will friends of that guard (the others sitting at the table with him) realize that he is acting a little strange?

I want to know the answer to this too. The powers and abilities they are giving us seem extremely powerful. I'd love it if as the game progresses some enemies might be able to use the same powers and/or would be more able to recognize when you use them. Another possibility is that some enemies might be more able to resist or be immune to some of your powers and abilities.

For example...

Level 1: You lay a trap and get a guard with it.
Level 2: You lay a trap and the guard notices it but isn't sure what it is and still trips it.
Level 3: Guard notices it and is able to avoid/disarm it.
Level 4: Guard notices it and immediately surmises that you are in the area.

But, if you are a smart player you might...
Level 1: You lay a trap and get the guard with it.
Level 2: You lay a trap and douse the light and get the guard with it.
Level 3: You lay a trap, douse a light, and make a noise so that the guard hurries through and trips it.
Level 4: Lay a trap, but use the trap as a distraction while you sneak up from behind and knock him out.

What I am wondering is if you posses a guard, and kill the target as that guard, will the other guards kill the guard your using and then not be suspicious anymore? They will see the guard your using as a threat that is terminated. Then you leave with a problem.

I'd think this further: Will guards become aware of your ability to posses guards when you use that ability more often and blatant? And if they do, would they suspect you after a guard killed someone important?

I would guess that if you possed guards more than once, that they would be on their guard alot.

I've always been of the opinion that what modern games need are better/more game programmers rather than more and more artists.

Actually, they said you could freeze time near a rat, put a bomb or something on said rat, possess said rat, and run to a guard and kill him.
If we can do that, I am pretty sure what we are thinking of is possible.

Is it a definite that we will even be able to control humans because from what I've been hearing it's only fish and rats?

They already said (if you had been paying attention) you can freeze time, possess a guard and make him walk in front of his bullet, or something to that affect.

I truly believe the AI will make or break this game. If the AI is stupid and has all the gaurds walking around saying "come out" after you've just stealth killed their companions, then that would be a dissapointment.

Having the guards give audio cues to their behavior and intentions is an excellent way to give the player the information he needs to stealth successfully. What, more specifically, do you think the A.I. should be capable of?

Im all for audio cues but why cant some run away scared or bunker down in a lighted room?
Im pretty sure if my fellow guard dropped dead next to me, my first reaction would not be to say "come out" or "who did this"

True, but they'll still need to balance game-play with realism. Having real emotional responses in enemies is
something I appreciated from Batman:Arkham Asylum that I would love to see in other games.
