So...I thought..can't be all that bad a some are saying, so I went out today and bought the game. I installed the AMD Rage driver package, installled the game.

Next thing I do is redeem the 2 codes that came with the game for the map pack and weapons pack...steam tells me they aren't avalable in my country (Canada), yet they appear in the DLC list. Yet nothing downloaded.

Very excited to play this game I've been waiting years for, I load it up, right away the game just locks up every two seconds, and is in now way playable. I relaize I don't own a super computer, But I am comfortably above the minimum. Any help would be great....as far as I know I can't return the game after opening it...so there goes 70 bucks, after taxes, down the crapper.

Anyway someone had the same issue, I'm in Canada, British Columbia and I had no problem.

Are you refering to the DLC stuff....really I couldn't care less, I just want to play the game.

Turn Off Catlayst AI , That worked for me .. However be prepared for epic check board textures as the result of AI being off , To be honest .. At the current state of the game .. i am not gonna play it because it will just ruin it , i am gonna wait a bit for a patch or a new driver.
Also you can try 11.6 driver , on my PC it was the only driver i can run the game with AI On and textures pop-ins were actually very low along with the check board being completely gone , However it ran with 15-25 FPS , But my vid card is really older than yours ,Try it and let me know what happened

I too am having the exact same problem with the game. As soon as the intro movie finished the game just stutters and is totally unplayable. I have tried all of the different patches and fixes that steam support has supplied and I still cant get anything to work. This is very frustrating,

This is the same problem that I am having. It freezes up and is unplayable. I did install the 11.6 drivers and it did work with a low framerate. It still wasn't good enough. But I do have the Battlefield 3 BETA installed as well. I wonder if this is one of the issues.
