Toughest Battle in the game so far...

Post » Thu Dec 15, 2011 10:22 pm

Now I cant remember the name of specific quest perhaps ill pull it up and post it later. However it was against 3 ghost brothers and their minions.
You fight them one at a time. The first had 2 axes and at least 10 thanes. I ran about the romm one shotting everything then froze the ghost with my thune to regen.
After dispatching him the fight got hard. The second brother had a bow that one shot me even with 125 hp 180 armor. Not much but I'm a mage. He also had 3 shades that all use paralysing shout. They spawn in random locations. You have to avoid all 4 shouts and arrows 1 of which insta kills but you cant tell which is which. Sometimes he spawns right next to you and your screwed. It took an hour to take him down. I got him by sneaking when he teleported and quickly take out 2 shades or locate which was him. Flames was cheap and useful for taking them out while avoided the real one.
once he died I began the tea bagging process until the last brother who is a caster interupted. He kinda ran around letting his atronach chase me. He went down fast.

Hardest fight to date. Anyone else have a tough fight?

Spoiler
It's not too hard considering you've fought them all already so you know what tactic you must use to defeat them. I haven't had any hard fights really but I must agree that the archer fight (the first one where you are only fighting the archer) is my most fun fight yet. I even made a post about it praising it shortly after I did it.

Vampires at low levels, damn those life-svckers are hard.

And any dragon now that the resistance against fire/frost isn't working properly.

I play on master and this is the only fight I had some real trouble with. Those damn guys kept spawning right next to me and spamming me with shouts. I have max sneak and archery though, so I managed to hide and take the last one out fast.

One of the Dragon Priests, can't remember his name but I had messed me combat prowess up by smithing too much and levelling up - I was fighting at about level 28 strength, but the enemies were at my actual level, 33 so I was getting pwned. The two wizards protecting him were easy enough but I had to watch Lydia tank him and fire about 100 arrows into him to kill him, all the while trying to avoid getting hit by his ridiculously powerful lightning spell

My level 9 destruction mage had to kill a dragon priest, I died 4 times and then took 20 minutes to kill him after all those deaths. By far the most intense fight I've had in the game.

And lol, apparently mage isn't a word? It keeps underlining it in red

My worst encounter is where I'm at right now. It's during a quest
Spoiler
Thieves guild
and it started off all right. A lot of Draugr Scourge, a few Restless Draugr, and about 2-3 Draugr Deathlords that were separated. The thing is you had a person come with you who could tank most of it easily. My assassin could lay back and pop some arrows, I didn't care about stealth killing I just ran around play action style. Then after clearing the first part easily. I came into the next room sneaking. I saw a Draugr resting and I shot him, he rose up from his state and started fighting the partner, he was a Deathlord. Then another two Draugr came up too, another Deathlord and a Scourge. Then I was shooting them and was detected. Then all three turned to me and I was destroyed in seconds.

Anyway. I thought I would try that shout to detect bodies. And there was like 8 in the same area. I snuck past everyone and and opened this cage door, but I though I could take them all on. I stood up awakening everyone one of them. I counted 6 Draugr Deathlords, one Scourge and one Restless Draugr. Nasty, nasty, and nasty... I think one of the Deathlords came from where I opened up the cage door but hey. It's a hell of a nightmare.

TL:DR - 6 Draugr Deathlords, 1 Scourge, 1 Restless Draugr.

HeHe Ya that one is insta-gibbed if you know what I mean.

I play on master and the toughest for me is when you enter the old tomb of the blades on the main questline. I am also playing with PISE mod which makes guys harder and more of them. All I can say is there are about 20 forsworn, 2 hargravens, and 1 elder dragon all killing each other. Heck I even had the two blades and my own companion with me and it was still tough as nails.

Vokun without enchanting boosted equipment. Anska was also stuck in a wall. I fought him solo took me hours. I can kill him easy now, with magic immunity.

There was a fight I did really early on, the one with the dark elf necromancer in the tomb? I was only level 4 or something and he ended up raising like 25 restless and normal draugr while teleporting all over the place, it was kinda crazy. Made me kinda sad when I went back on my second character at level 15 or something and just sneak instakilled him from behind >.>

Low-level fighting Raghot. Not sure why he was so tough, I guess the Scourges and Deathlords helping him really made it challenging. Died SO many times ....

At some point I found myself trying to go throu a dungeon/crypt with Draugr Deathlords as the "common" enemy. While not the hardest single fight I have fought, it was a constant battle for survival from I entered the place until I left. I played throu it on expert(which I will play on again as soon as the resistance-bug is fixed. Damn mages being much more powerful at destruction than the player can ever be). I play a warrior/mage(80/20) character.

"Low-level" quest dungeon scaled up to be filled to the brim with Deathlords/Scourge. Not so horrible, except the nonstop shouting...ugh.

I made a character who uses 2 woodcutting axes as weapons; at level 11 I ran into a dragon priest and I died over 20 times trying to kill the pesky thing.

On my mage I fought a dragon without any magicka, that was interesting.

Spoiler
Potema anyone? Very cool battle IMO

Since there's been plenty of times where I've had to run away from fights, (Dragon Priests, Giants, etc.) but the most fun and challenging fight I've had was within the main quest towards the end. Spoilers.

Spoiler
The area leading up to the portal to Sovngarde, the seemingly endless amounts of dragons, high-level draugr, and topping it off with a dragon priest. It was just extremely challenging and epic.

I was level 16 when I accidentally got too close to Krosis and the Ancient Dragon sleeping behind him, had to use all arrows and potions, every single one of them. It was epic
