I have chosen the option to not join the Railroad. But...the mission "Tradecraft" apparently will stay open infinitely unless I join? The mission quest remains "Talk to Desdemona". I keep doing so, repeatedly, and I keep telling her I don't want to join. Repeat. Over and Over. She says fine, let me know if you change your mind. But... The mission quest remains open with the directive --> "talk to Desdemona".

So how many times do I repeat this objective for the Tradecraft mission to end? Do I really have a choice? Am I being forced to join the Railroad, in order to complete this mission?

Are these two mutually exclusive?

1) I don't want to join the Railroad.

2) I want "Tradecraft" to leave the Open missions list shown in PipBoy and appear in the Completed missions list as having been successfully completed, not failed.

I am playing this on Xbox One. Also, I noticed the prototype remains in my inventory.

Has anyone been successful in ending the mission, getting mission-complete XP (which I still haven't received either) without joining the Railroad and accepting more Railroad missions?
