Transmute, such a genius spell

Post » Fri May 11, 2012 12:36 am

Anyone else found the Transmute spell? It's an adept level alteration spell - it turns any iron ore you have into steel and any steel Silver ore into gold ore. Such a great idea - I found it in a mine situated in a camp near to whiterun. I didn't check the spell out until way later, but now it makes sense why that mine was filled to the brim with iron ore...

Certainly a nice spell for those who were complaining that iron is too common.

Edit: Whoops, meant silver!

It is pretty nice.

Right now I'm using Iron and Leather to level blacksmith, but I can see that starting to slow down here before too long.

Steel is not a ore, but a ingot and therefore cannot be mined.

it takes two ore to create 1 steel ingot ( iron + one of the ore's starting with C )

How much magicka does the transmute spell cost? if i had say 30 iron ore, is it realistic to transmute all that into gold or steel or is that gonna tank too long

( PS i thought it was silver, but any way, says uesp)

Corundum.

Yeah Transmute is cool, I was pleasantly surprised when I found it. To be honest Iron has more use to me in the long run since I'm a Smithing specialist, and spamming Iron Daggers is the best way to quick-raise the skill to unlock the next armour tier. It's a cool idea though.

Did you mean silver ore? My transmute turns iron ore into silver ore, then silver ore into gold ore. But yea it's an awesome spell, I buy all the iron ore I can find then transmute it and sell it back for a profit. One of the ways I got my first house!

I love everything about the crafting aspects of Skyrim. Transmute is just brilliant, if you don't wanna spend a fortune at a local blacksmith buying the stuff you need, granted he's got it in stock.

Don't forget you can make jewelry at a forge too!

Practical uses for both the silver and those gems found in dungeons
